In honor of the season, the A&L staff would like to share some of our favorite holiday traditions. If there are some that pique your interest, don’t hesitate to incorporate them into your holidays!

“You’re going to find a little bit of everything here at the rodeo,” Melissa said. “Whether you’re looking for western wear, you want a custom-shaped hat, you want some 100%-covered-in-rhinestone boots, we’re going to have that. Also, we are talking about salsas and homemade chocolates and home décor, even furniture made out of whiskey barrels.”

“When I went into this, I didn’t think that I would be as successful as fast as it’s been happening,” Smith said. “I obviously have more goals that I want to achieve. But so far, I feel really proud of what I’ve accomplished.”

Don’t be a fish out of water. Before you leave, make a list. Go online to find relatively simple recipes that you can cook in your dorm or your apartment kitchen. Preferably nothing pungent — your neighbors and roommates will thank you.

“We’re trying to cater to the students in town,” Hao said. “So introducing new spicy foods is one thing that we’ve done. Giving a 10% discount for all students of local universities as well as first responders, to show them that we’re part of the community. In general, we have a lot of things planned up.”

On Monday the Beauchamp Addiction Recovery Center will hold Lovefeast, a potluck for all students to come and celebrate each other and themselves. Lovefeast will include food donated from several organizations on campus and will be held from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the BARC.

Whoever said Waco doesn’t have great Mexican food? Waco is home to some seriously great taco trucks; plenty of taco trucks can be found nestled around the city.
