Fabled Bookshop & Cafe may very well be Santa’s workshop during this time of the year, as told by Elizabeth Barnhill. This adult “book buyer” spoke today about what books to buy for loved ones this Christmas at the monthly meeting of the Baylor Club’s Newcomers and Neighbors of Waco.

The Beall Poetry Festival will take place from Wednesday to Friday on Baylor’s campus, celebrating its 30th anniversary. This year, the special guest will be Tracy K. Smith, author of “Wade in the Water” and “Life on Mars” and 2022 Poet Laureate of the United States.

Recently named an Inklings Project Fellow for the 2023-24 year, Dr. Richard Russell is revamping English 3372 — the course on J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis — and creating an undergraduate certificate on the Oxford Christians.
The Phoenix Literary Magazine is an annual student-run publication featuring works by Baylor students of all disciplines, including poetry, short stories, photography and even sheet music. The Phoenix is accepting submissions through December.
“Whether you’re one of those people who are like, I know what I’m gonna do, and that’s fantastic, or whether you’re someone who is taking a lot of different changes and different majors and turns in your career, that’s okay, too,” Kade said. “You don’t have to have everything figured out.”
