Homecoming weekend is one of the most stand-out traditions at Baylor. Whether you’re attending the parade, watching the bonfire, or front row at the football game, choosing the perfect outfit is key. You get to express yourself and your identity among your fellow students, all while celebrating the history of your future alma mater.
Adding green powder to your diet won’t instantly make you lose weight, and adopting a keto diet can take several months to see any progress. But influencers appear to have never looked better, often thanks to Photoshop, steroid use or medical treatments like Ozempic, which makes this whole weight loss phenomenon pretty misleading.
“Everyone saw the value in being here, even though they came from so many other places and backgrounds.”
From Hydroflasks to Stanley cups and now Owala water bottles, do we really need so many vessels to carry our drinks everyday?
In an effort to avoid all thoughts of school and responsibilities, one can only look toward the future: summer. With…
Our generation loves to hate on iPad kids, when in reality, we’re all just iPhone adults. How many times a week do you sit down on the couch, open TikTok and start scrolling? When you finally snap back into consciousness, three hours have passed — and you haven’t moved a muscle besides your thumbs. It’s an endless cycle known as “doom scrolling,” and I believe this phenomenon is killing not only our time but also our creativity.
Don’t get me wrong, weddings are arguably one of the most important events of the human experience, but is it essential to invite your mom’s third cousin, whom you met at a funeral once when you were 12 years old?
If the couple decides they want a morning wedding with no reception, that’s their choice. If the couple decides on a colorful wedding with no theme, that’s OK too. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Over the past five to 10 years, I have witnessed a phenomenon: anime, the treasure I used to hold so dear to me, is beginning to spread nationwide. I have a fear that once it becomes mainstream in America, the quality of anime will decrease due to us forcing our societal norms onto the shows.
Sure, it’s true other people in public perceive your significant other. So, why is a video about it bad? Because social media material on subjects like this takes a simple thing and runs with it. It serves as a constant reminder of insecurities and encourages viewers to assume the worst of their partners.
It’s hard to imagine 2023 without long denim skirts and the resurgence of Adidas sneakers. These trends shaped our social media feeds and bank accounts, but they also affected our life at Baylor. With 2024 being barely a month in, here are the ins and outs for Baylor.
Aging is a natural process — one that will happen to us all. It means that we’ve lived a full life, experiencing the highs and lows that come with it. Scars that tell either really silly or super cool stories. Smile lines that show we’ve enjoyed the time we have had. Aging is inevitable, but some spend hundreds of thousands of dollars every year to prevent it. Why do we still try to preserve something that we know is so fleeting?
You are a person — not a receipt — and your identity and personal taste add up to more than just what you spend your money on and the ads Instagram sneaks into your feed.
Another thing they have in common is the spilling problem. Stanley cups leak when you just tip it just a tad. Although Hydro Flasks are clearly the better product, my biggest spilling problem is from that. I have had so many days where my backpack has been soaked from the bottle spilling everywhere.
Dieting is very personal and should be done in a safe and well-researched manner. What works for one person may not work for another, and once someone realizes this, they can be in the right mindset to find what works best for them.
I see Golden Gooses everywhere on Baylor’s campus. They are a trend that can’t be ignored. I encourage everyone to use their money to buy whatever makes them happy and confident, but as for myself, I will not be partaking in this fashion statement.
“The biggest thing that will never go out of style is just feeling comfortable in your own skin,” Austin said. “Just finding your own personal style is really important, and wearing things that you feel comfortable in.”
Tote bags are very cute and — dare I say — aesthetic, but they are not practical as backpacks. Backpacks, by design, are made to distribute the weight on your back and shoulders. A tote bag doesn’t.
