“I know this may not seem like something that’s making an impact, but I’m sure it will make an impact in the future and make a difference to the students on campus,” Merced said.

Five months after a team of sophomores formed the first cohort of University Innovation Fellows at Baylor, the organization is bringing in a new class of freshmen to ensure continuity of the group and its impacts.
As of April 9, three Baylor students have had their record in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System database terminated and their student visas revoked.
The ACCESS at Baylor Act, which will take effect at the start of the fall 2025 semester if approved, seeks to provide the university community with the Waco Transit System, and therefore have direct routes leading to off-campus academic buildings and other important locations throughout the city.
While student teachers are not able to administer the STAAR, they can help the students prepare by helping them with subjects that they know will most likely be on the STAAR. Another way the student teachers can help during test week is to encourage the students, as some students really struggle with test anxiety or academic pressure.

Baylor has been honored with the Tree Campus Higher Education recognition by the Arbor Day Foundation, celebrating the university’s ongoing commitment to urban forestry, sustainability and environmental stewardship.
“This is an opportunity for us to give students a care package to celebrate the Easter season and also have some meals for those suffering food insecurity who may need it over the season,” Fernandez said.
“The community is just so tight, they have what they call the familia mindset,” she said. “Everyone is just very close knit. They have so many socials and they have so many events that just bring the whole community together.”
According to their website, Esther’s Closet has helped over 800 women in their employment journeys, some of whom have gone on to start their own successful businesses.
“We’re losing generations that believe in the Constitution and understand the foundations of our system of government,” Wendy May-Dreyer, the head of iCivics, a civic education nonprofit, said. “That, no doubt, plays into not appreciating things like the rule of law and why separation of powers goes away if you don’t have that kind of ability.”

Baylor is shining a spotlight on its graduate students this week with a series of events celebrating Graduate Student Appreciation Week, offering everything from free food to professional development workshops in recognition of their academic contributions and campus involvement.

“We could really see the faults in the healthcare system, in either urban or rural areas where these kinds of minority groups didn’t get as much healthcare as they should have been,” Carmichael said.

First and foremost,” Rivero said. “But the designers that are embracing AI, using AI and educating themselves in this new technology will take their jobs. Why? Because AI makes everything faster. “What we’re really trying to push toward is a more aware student population,” Burten said. “If we keep our vets in a little bubble, then nobody else can benefit from their experiences, which kind of defeats the purpose.”
“The goal is mostly to build an environment of Catholic fellowship,” Foley said. “It gives people an opportunity to go to the kind of event that typically college students want to go to, but hosted by a Catholic organization and with a Catholic mindset.”
As part of a national protest movement, McLennan County residents gathered on North Valley Mills Drive on Saturday to protest the new administration.
“It truly brings me so much joy to see them graduate at the end of the program. I feel so much joy hearing them describe what the program has been like for them and getting to this point of success,” Hernandez said. “It could bring me to tears.”
Campaign season for Baylor’s next student body president kicked off Wednesday, with three experienced juniors vying for the title. These three candidates have each had extensive experience in different areas of student government, making for a close presidential race.
“We get asked to do a lot of things and partner with a lot of organizations,” Mullins said. “So I think anytime that we can make Baylor look good, which I think we do, I think that’s a good thing.”

Allergy and Asthma Care of Waco tracks the pollen count in the area, and the latest measurement was 436 grains per cubic meter for trees. With this high pollen count, students struggle to fight against the symptoms of allergies.
