“It is so easy to get trapped inside the ‘Baylor Bubble,’” Roehm said. “I have so many stories of site owners who are beyond grateful for Baylor students coming and doing the things that they are no longer able to do, such as the elderly who can no longer do yard work anymore.”

BearAid, which is housed under the department of Missions, Service and Public Life, hosted a relief kit packing event for those impacted by the recent Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Students were able to pack kits from 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday outside of the Bobo Spiritual Life Center.

Public discourse unfolded online, leaving students to make sense of gun violence on high school and college campuses. With traditions like Homecoming and Christmas on Fifth Street around the corner, administrators are navigating safety measures in the current political climate.

The term “self-care” is thrown around a lot in college and is often thought of as pampering and relaxation. Although these are great ways to show yourself love, sometimes the most basic form of self-care is attending to your physical well-being.
