The ‘old money’ look is in, and Sofia Richie Grainge is our role model

As I enter my 20s, I’m starting to figure out my style. My inspiration? Sofia Richie Grainge.

And I’m not alone. Millions are switching to the classier, timeless look many refer to as “old money.”

Ever since her sudden appearance on TikTok the week of her wedding to Elliot Grainge, Richie has become a style icon for millions of women. She has inspired many with her slicked-back buns and her classy, elegant and beautiful looks. Richie says her new style is inspired by former First Lady Jackie Kennedy, with a little bit more edge.

Before this, Richie was known for flashy outfits she wore alongside her ex, Scott Disick, and many are making the change from flashy to classy in her footsteps.

It’s time we all undergo this style evolution — and here’s how to do it.

    • First, stick to the neutrals. Richie is known for sticking to more sophisticated colors, but she isn’t afraid to throw in a pop of color when needed.
    • Build with the basics — and make sure they are good quality. This one is hard, but with time, you can accumulate a collection of basics, especially with thrifting.
    • Be bold. Wear what makes you feel confident, but don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone.
    • Never underestimate the power of a good blazer. When in doubt, add one to immediately elevate your look.
    • It’s time to tailor. This one I particularly agree with; there’s nothing like having the perfect fit.
    • If you can, spring for quiet luxury. This one is hard to do — maybe when we’re 30!
    • Swap trendy for timeless. Keeping up with the trends is too overwhelming anyway. Start building a wardrobe that lasts.
    • Accessories can make or break a look. Don’t forget to check if you’re a gold or silver girl. Richie said jewelry stacking and layering is her go-to when it comes to accessories.
    • Less is more. Sometimes, when it comes to a sophisticated look, Richie recommends simplicity. Minimalism is in, and I love it.
    • Lastly, consider confidence in your look. Richie attributes the evolution of her wardrobe to the confidence she feels when dressing more sophisticatedly.

It might be time to embrace a new look. You’ll never know until you try.
