The Waco Police Department said that for the past six months, men have been targeting unlocked vehicles in small and congested parking lots like apartment complexes and hotels near Baylor, Robinson and Falls County .

“My immediate reaction was that I had been betrayed in a sense, because my whole life I’ve dedicated to protecting life. I got kind of duped into a situation where I’m complicit in killing a life.”

Due to its location in the basement of the Bill Daniel Student Center, it is easy to miss the work of student government throughout the semester. However, as Denver sophomore, senator and public relations committee chair Lily Davis said, student government has a hand in many beloved campus traditions and behind-the-scenes initiatives.

“When I walk in there, it’s not like I’m there to do work,” Solis said. “I walk in there because I’m doing something that I genuinely enjoy doing.”

“I hope that they see kind of an authenticity and genuineness in me, that I really care about people and I care about the organizations I’m a part of, and really want to do everything I can to help whether it’s the people or the organization to be better.”
