The Rare Neurological Disorder Foundation will bring together researchers, clinicians and advocates Friday for its first Spring Assembly, featuring presentations from experts across several major medical institutions and highlighting student fellowship work in rare neurological disorders.
In the aftermath of national attention over Baylor hosting Turning Point USA on campus, statements made at the closed event have ignited controversy amongst students and faculty.
With nearly 120 years of combined experience in Penland Dining Hall, Elaine Battle, Linda Benson and Donna Majors have served thousands — maybe even millions — of meals to the Baylor community. But the three are known for far more than flipping omelets or making pizzas. Their careers are marked by countless relationships and acts of service that go beyond the women’s job descriptions.
Laura McNutt, assistant director of advising in Baylor’s College of Arts and Sciences, died April 17 at her home in Waco after a three-year battle with colon cancer. She was 38.
This April, the OEL welcomed its newest cohort of Vardaman Scholars, formerly known as Global Engage Fellows. The program, intended for rising sophomores or juniors, lasts for the duration of the student’s undergraduate career at Baylor. The program structure requires students to take two courses under the OEL’s Philanthropy & Public Service Program before undertaking an engaged learning project and becoming an engaged learning student leader.

Women have been in baseball for most of the sport’s history. While they have faced obstacles for around the last 100 years, the Women’s Professional Baseball League is reminding people that women always belonged.

All Are Neighbors, held in the Cashion Academic Center, drew 270 ticketed attendees, totaling 352 people, including VIP guests and speakers, nearly filling all available seats. The event was created in response to TPUSA’s presence on campus, but speakers and organizers consistently emphasized that the gathering was not merely reactive. Instead, it functioned as a faith-centered call to action, rooted in Christian teaching and expressed through civic engagement.

The third and shortest week of classes thus far has almost concluded. If you’re already drowning in work like I am, here are some upcoming events to ease your tired brain.
Gaming culture has become too toxic and has reached a point where it is affecting people’s livelihoods. Nothing has made this toxicity more apparent than what happened recently with the game Highguard.
If public libraries disappeared tomorrow, the world would lose more than books and programs. We would lose one of the rare places where people of different backgrounds can exist on an equal platform, outside of financial or societal barriers. We would lose access to free information and a space where communities can flourish.
Do not beat yourself up because you have feelings of stress, anxiety or just “off days.” You are not weak in your faith because of these worldly feelings. Your faith in Jesus doesn’t cancel your stress levels, but it does mean you aren’t alone in it. And perhaps, the most faithful thing we can do is admit that.
Learn to love your scars, for your past self if no one else. I’ve had a prominent scar for most of my life. Learning to be proud of who I am and love the uniqueness it brings was a major part of becoming who I am today.
Where the law applies to one, it should apply to all. As long as we fail to hold accountable leaders and elites who are guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, we perpetuate a lie and allow one’s status to disguise their guilt.
It is time for Baylor students to become more open to casually drinking at a sociable setting of a good neighborhood bar.
