Ash Wednesday and the season of Lent are right around the corner. As students and faculty across Baylor’s campus acknowledge and participate in this season, spiritual leaders urge students to prepare their minds and hearts before the season begins.
“She used to not like math at all; it would be a kind of fight to get her to want to work, but then she would be so happy to do it and she would love it and she would want to do more and more,” Willis said. “That was something I liked seeing because I realized we do have a big impact on these students’ lives, their education and what they’re learning.”
The event aimed to remind students of their ancestors’ legacy and to shape how they think about it. The goal was to transform legacy from just a concept of the past to an active responsibility of the present.
Texas Democrats gathered in Waco on Saturday at the Performing Arts Community Center for a McLennan County Democratic Party candidate forum ahead of the March 3 primary. The group was optimistic about state races following decades of Republican dominance, focusing on public education, healthcare access and affordability.
With about 70 active members, HSA has remained relatively small. To afford hosting bigger events, such as Fiesta, they must first run smaller fundraisers.

In an age of constant content flowing straight to pockets, misinformation is inevitable. Between rumors of mental instability and artificial intelligence deepfakes, voters must be cautious about what they believe ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections.

ARTS & LIFE
While preceded by inflatables and followed by fireworks, The Fray’s performance itself was what pumped up and lit up the audience Friday night at Silobration.
Some of the most beautiful parts of life can be found in film, literature, art or any other creative endeavor. Writing off an entire hobby because they’re “film bro interests” or any other pretentious label does more harm than good. You’re isolating yourself from an entirely new world to explore, all out of fear of standing out too much.
It’s easy to play the blame game in the midst of something so terrible, but pointing fingers doesn’t help anyone right now. Some Californians have lost everything in these fires. What should be the focus of peoples’ conversations and efforts is how to help, not who to blame.
So many of our day-to-day goods are outsourced internationally. Abusing sweatshops, cheap labor and raw material costs from other countries only hurts us. If we push our legislation to promote more domestic manufacturing, not only are we boosting our own economy, we are providing Americans with job opportunities and a sense of pride by producing domestically-made materials.
It matters very little if you like Hegseth’s politics or you don’t. We should all be able to recognize that a seasoned military leader with senior experience is desperately needed. Rhetoric isn’t enough. Words alone don’t win wars. Leadership qualities, knowledge of military tactics and a high level of experience do. As it stands, Hegseth hasn’t shown that he has any of these traits, and defense secretary is too important a position to roll the dice on an outside hire.
Our society forces everything from political figures and media companies into one of two political categories. It’s become an unstoppable battle that should never have begun.
Since this article only discusses fast food joints, I will not include the all-time great wing spots, Wingstop and Buffalo Wild Wings, even though they are superior to just about every restaurant that serves wings.

Baylor marched into Reliant Stadium hoping to claim the first Baylor bowl victory since 1992. Unfortunately the Illinois Fighting Illini had other ideas, blowing past the Bears, 38-14. It was a tough lesson, but one that will fuel the team as it heads into the offseason.
