Tucked in a little shopping area on 25th St. and Washington Ave. lies The Carpenter’s Daughter, which opened in October 2024. It is run by an owner who thrives off her community and enthusiasm for her small business.
“Companion” struggled to find its identity. It’s a jack of all trades in the sense that it fits into a ton of different genres, but it truly was the master of none. It wasn’t scary enough to be horror, wasn’t funny enough for comedy, wasn’t romantic enough. Any genre you’d think of — it wasn’t enough.
To be exact, Pet Circle’s dog capacity is at 94%, and they’re currently taking in more dogs than are being adopted, with 59 intakes in the last seven days compared to just 41 adoptions in that same time period.
“That’s always the best part of opening a new exhibit — seeing how the public responds to it,” said Nall. “It’s been wonderful. It has exceeded expectations.”
For freshmen, these auditions could allow them to be accepted into the Baylor School of Music. This would then grant them the ability to pursue a music major, which, according to admissions and recruiting coordinator Callan Chappell, isn’t necessarily a requirement for musicians to pursue their passion at Baylor.
It’s a good thing Baylor is no slouch when it comes to putting on events and performances. So, do yourself a favor this semester by breaking out of that endless cycle and checking out some of these arts and entertainment events put on by fellow classmates and peers and snag some CAE credits while you’re at it.
