When Baylor men’s basketball head coach Scott Drew posted his dedication to Baylor on Thursday morning to officially take his name out of the hat for the Kentucky job, a subtle roar took over Waco. From murmuring in classes to dancing at Fountain Mall, there were smiles all around that could be traced back to one man’s decision to keep his home base at Baylor.
Kentucky is reportedly targeting Baylor men’s basketball head coach Scott Drew as its next head coach, according to Adam Zagoria of njdotcom.
Florida Atlantic announced on Wednesday that it hired Baylor assistant coach John Jakus as its next head coach. Jakus has been on Bears head coach Scott Drew’s staff for the last seven years.
Women's Basketball
Whether or not Baylor women’s basketball is winning or losing, junior guard Sarah Andrews keeps a smile on her face at all times.

Equestrian
Energy levels were high as the Baylor Acrobatics and Tumbling team won its first meet of the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association season against Azusa Pacific.
The first half of the meet featured three events, each with multiple heats.
The three events were compulsories, acro heat and pyramid heat. There were 10 total heats from all three events combined.
The Baylor equestrian team hopes to ride its way to a victory over the Fresno State Bulldogs on Friday at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
The meet, which will begin at noon, marks the seventh competition for the Bears since the season began.
The Baylor equestrian team is coming off of a National Championship last season and the win of their first event of the 2012 season, The Willis Invitational. With all of their success, it is only appropriate that Baylor Nation is educated on what exactly it is that the team does. The team rides in both Western and English styles, competing in two events from each category.
Tennis
Baylor men’s tennis wins their second ranked match within the last two days defeating the University of Virginia 4-2.
After defeating Incarnate Word and Idaho State at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center on Sunday, Baylor men’s tennis won its 44th straight doubleheader, displaying depth as they continue to build team chemistry.
Lah and Bass are continuing to improve their chemistry as doubles partners as the season progresses.
Golf
Baylor fans have plenty to follow this weekend as several teams are in action: men’s tennis will be home Friday, Saturday and Sunday for their season opener in the HEB Invitational, women’s cross country competes Friday at the Toledo Inter-Regional Bubble Buster meet in Toledo, Ohio, and on Sunday and Monday, women’s golf will be at the Dick Maguire Invitational tournament in Albuquerque, N.M.
Junior Ryan O’Rear led the Baylor men’s team to his career-best performance with a fourth-place finish at 4-under-par, and freshman Hayley Davis led the Baylor women’s team at second-place in her first collegiate tournament with a 2-under-par.
The Baylor men’s golf team won the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate tournament in Verona, N.Y., by 11 strokes Monday.
