Men's Basketball
Following a national championship in 2020-21, three straight Baylor men’s basketball seasons have concluded with an underwhelming second-round exit. Whether it be injury-riddled seasons or unthinkably slow starts, each season has found a different way to leave a lasting mark. However, the 2023-24 season will mostly be looked back on fondly due to those close bonds on the team.
There may not have been a team ranked in the preseason AP Top-25 that underwent more overhaul than 2023-24 Baylor men’s basketball. As the only Big 12 team with four brand new starters that also welcomed seven total newcomers, head coach Scott Drew found a way to bring his “Culture of Joy” to new levels.
After senior guard RayJ Dennis powered through contact and ended a scoring drought that lasted just over two minutes, No. 3 seed Baylor men’s basketball was down by 13 with just over six minutes to play.
Women's Basketball
The Bears couldn’t salvage the Senior Day for Baylor basketball as a whole on Saturday, as both the men and the women fell in their respective contests.
The Bears split the season series with the Longhorns following a 63-54 victory Monday night in the Moody Center in Austin.
The Bears defeated the Lady Raiders despite a third quarter in which they did not make a single field goal Saturday evening in the Ferrell Center.
Equestrian
From clinking spurs to pounding hooves, the Baylor equestrian team will be in full force this weekend as it travels to take on Kansas State and Oklahoma State.
“It will be a very full weekend of travel and running around,” head coach Ellen White said. “It is going to be a great time for the girls to get to know each other. One big road trip.”
The competitions this weekend will mark the team’s first Big 12 events of the season.
The Baylor equestrian team opens its 2012-2013 season today by hosting the fifth annual Willis Invitational at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.
The tournament, which will run through Saturday, will showcase talent from Miami State, Ohio State, New Mexico State and Delaware State as well as Baylor.

Tennis
Baylor women’s tennis gave all they could, being the first team to score a point on Texas this season.
In a back-and-forth battle, the Baylor women’s tennis program dropped a close one to the Trojans, a match that went down to the final singles match.
The Baylor women’s tennis program advanced to the championship round of the ITA Kickoff Weekend with a convincing win over Big 12 foe Kansas.
Golf
Though her team was not offered an at-large bid to the NCAA West Regional May 5-7, junior Chelsey Cothran became one of six individual golfers offered an at-large bid to travel to Auburn, Wash. Cothran is the first Baylor golfer in program history to receive the individual bid.
Baylor women’s golf coach Sylvia Ferdon announced Tuesday she will retire after 17 years as the Lady Bears’ head coach. Her Baylor coaching highlights include 10 NCAA Regional appearances and three third-place finishes at the Big 12 tournament.
The Baylor men’s golf capped off the regular season with a fourth place finish, ahead of Big 12 foes Texas and Oklahoma, at the Aggie Invitational on Sunday in Bryan. The No. 46 ranked Bears finished at 41-over-par (376-377-368=1121) for their sixth top-five finish this season.
