From lightly worn furniture to unused appliances, move-out week sees dumpsters overflowing with all sorts of nearly-new items. As the end of the semester approaches, a pair of business students have found a way to keep those goods out of the garbage and into the hands of the people who need them.

This summer, the Waco Mammoth National Monument will celebrate its 10 year anniversary of becoming a recognized site by the National Park Foundation. This designation was the result of over six years of hard work between the park staff and Waco community, according to National Parks Service Site Manager Raegan King.

“In a way, it’s not a typical service where you have a straightforward worship leader and somebody guiding the entire service,” Wylie sophomore Aaron Cash said. “We do have structure to kind of just keep us going, but really it’s a space for people to come and worship together and to bring their own songs.”

After nearly 30 years of serving the city, former Assistant City Manager and Chief of Police Ryan Holt as officially been appointed as the city manager of Waco. Citing the importance of collective impact, Holt hopes to engage through thoughtful, strategic ways to move the city forward, including deepening ties with Baylor.

The point at which ring by spring becomes harmful is the point at which it teaches students that marriage is necessary for them to live a Christian life — and, further, that marriage is promised. College offers an opportunity for immense personal formation, and we shouldn’t overshadow that opportunity with unrealistic, and frankly unbiblical, pressures to settle down.

There have been countless times when I’ve woken up thinking, “Man, I wish I could sleep longer.” Does that stop me from getting up and doing what needs to be done? No. As mentioned before, it’s a mindset. Don’t dwell on the fact that you’re tired; trudge through when stuff gets tough.

A lot of us may embrace and engage in the large prayer tent on Fountain Mall and various conversations surrounding the three-day Christianpalooza, also known as FM72. There is beauty in having a space for that on a college campus. However, this is one of numerous examples of public, almost performative, Christianity at Baylor.

Baylor marched into Reliant Stadium hoping to claim the first Baylor bowl victory since 1992. Unfortunately the Illinois Fighting Illini had other ideas, blowing past the Bears, 38-14. It was a tough lesson, but one that will fuel the team as it heads into the offseason.
