Texas Senate Bill 3 (SB 3) proposes a sweeping ban on all forms of THC, including hemp-derived compounds like Delta-8 and Delta-9. It aims to restrict the cannabinoids that can be legally sold, impose stricter licensing and testing requirements and introduce criminal penalties for non-compliance, according to Texas Policy Research.
From lightly worn furniture to unused appliances, move-out week sees dumpsters overflowing with all sorts of nearly-new items. As the end of the semester approaches, a pair of business students have found a way to keep those goods out of the garbage and into the hands of the people who need them.
“I hope that any student that graduates from Baylor, regardless of their interest, regardless of their major, I hope that they at least understand sustainability challenges and feel equipped to address those in the future,” VerPloeg said.
This summer, the Waco Mammoth National Monument will celebrate its 10 year anniversary of becoming a recognized site by the National Park Foundation. This designation was the result of over six years of hard work between the park staff and Waco community, according to National Parks Service Site Manager Raegan King.
Maxwell said that while this is a season of mourning for the Catholic community, it can dually function as a season of remembrance and gratitude for the dedication Pope Francis showed the church.

The Bears have stumbled out of the gates to begin conference play, as new players struggle to jell amid injuries and roster turnover.
Plagued by a program-record 30 turnovers, a 34–8 points-in-the-paint deficit and 38 points allowed off turnovers, No. 14 Baylor women’s basketball fell to No. 22 West Virginia 70–60 on Sunday afternoon, marking just the Bears’ second loss in conference play and fourth of the season.

Behind efficient senior scoring and a late 8–0 run, No. 14 Baylor women’s basketball held off Houston to remain tied atop the Big 12 standings. The Bears shot 52% from the field and leaned on a balanced offensive effort to secure an 82–66 win at home.
After nearly 30 years of serving the city, former Assistant City Manager and Chief of Police Ryan Holt as officially been appointed as the city manager of Waco. Citing the importance of collective impact, Holt hopes to engage through thoughtful, strategic ways to move the city forward, including deepening ties with Baylor.

At the Martin Museum of Art’s Biennial Faculty Exhibition, professors from both the art and art history departments have the opportunity to take off the instructor hat and embrace being students of art again, sharing their personal artwork for guests and students to see on display until March 8.
Baylor has always had specific class requirements for graduating, such as taking Chapel, lifetime fitness, a foreign language and a science. Each of these classes counts toward attendance, tuition and GPA, so why don’t students get proper credit toward their degree plans with them?
If the couple decides they want a morning wedding with no reception, that’s their choice. If the couple decides on a colorful wedding with no theme, that’s OK too. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
The point at which ring by spring becomes harmful is the point at which it teaches students that marriage is necessary for them to live a Christian life — and, further, that marriage is promised. College offers an opportunity for immense personal formation, and we shouldn’t overshadow that opportunity with unrealistic, and frankly unbiblical, pressures to settle down.
There have been countless times when I’ve woken up thinking, “Man, I wish I could sleep longer.” Does that stop me from getting up and doing what needs to be done? No. As mentioned before, it’s a mindset. Don’t dwell on the fact that you’re tired; trudge through when stuff gets tough.
Baylor should keep its policy in place and continue to not take a student’s quality of high school education into account with an unfair test. Students need to remain evaluated by their essays, transcript, resume and application itself — not by one number.
A lot of us may embrace and engage in the large prayer tent on Fountain Mall and various conversations surrounding the three-day Christianpalooza, also known as FM72. There is beauty in having a space for that on a college campus. However, this is one of numerous examples of public, almost performative, Christianity at Baylor.

Baylor marched into Reliant Stadium hoping to claim the first Baylor bowl victory since 1992. Unfortunately the Illinois Fighting Illini had other ideas, blowing past the Bears, 38-14. It was a tough lesson, but one that will fuel the team as it heads into the offseason.
