While a space like this has previously existed, it is being “rebranded” and moved to a more central location: the first floor of Moody Memorial Library. One half of the space is a quiet area where people can engage in deep prayer and meditation, and the other is a more relaxed area for people to sit and engage in conversation.
Crocheting brings students together through a common interest, allowing for conversation and community as well as service and creativity. To the officers, spending time doing their favorite hobby together is a moment of relaxation amid their fast-paced college years.
From the Galapagos Islands to New Zealand, Baylor’s study abroad programs offer various destinations for students — with a price tag. However, the Center for Global Engagement offers financial resources and support for students who are doing summer, semester and winter study abroad trips.
The Baylor Career Center hosted its annual Education Career Fair Thursday, with over 60 school districts with public, private and charter school recruiters. The opportunity was open to education majors and all students interested in pursuing a career in education.

Jonathan Echols, the Career Center’s communications and media manager, said academics aren’t always the reason students feel unprepared to face the shifting job market. Echols said those who actively work on post-graduation employment are the ones who find it.

All Are Neighbors, held in the Cashion Academic Center, drew 270 ticketed attendees, totaling 352 people, including VIP guests and speakers, nearly filling all available seats. The low hum of steel guitars and neon-lit nostalgia will soon echo through Foster Pavilion. On Oct. 2, Baylor will trade sneakers and basketballs for cowboy boots and two-stepping when rising country artist Braxton Keith brings his high-and-lonesome Texas sound to Waco with the “Real Damn Deal” tour.
Instead of discouraging them from their interests, we should be encouraging these girls to reach their full potential in whatever area they may choose, exactly in the same way we have done with for boys for centuries.
