If fitness is something that you want to pursue, you shouldn’t feel like the gym and traditional bodybuilding routines are the only way to get fit. There are so many different forms of fitness and so many different avenues on how you can approach training. You can train for aesthetics, strength, endurance, cardio or even a little bit of everything.

It’s OK to take time to figure out what you want to do with your life. There are so many paths you can take that it really does take time to figure out which way is best. Stressing early on about what the future after graduation looks like will make you hate your senior year.

What I’ve realized is that when I apologize so frequently, I undermine my own existence before I even give anyone else the chance to. I invalidate what I feel and need before someone else might shut me down. Maybe it’s some coping mechanism for the rejection I’ve experienced in the past, or maybe it’s just a bad habit I pick up in situations where I lack confidence.

If I’m somehow offending you with that statement, then — sorry, not sorry — you are likely watching movies and TV shows wrong while simultaneously detracting from the little details that make them great.

While this may seem like an impossible feat, it’s not. Trader Joe’s allows people to request a store location in their city. Baylor currently has 20,824 students — and I think 20,824 requests might be hard to ignore.

School is important, and we should perform to the best of our ability, but we were never supposed to choose it over our mental health, physical health or relational health. So, put the textbook down and go outside. Have a long dinner with your friends. Watch a movie. Remind yourself that school is not all there is to life. It’ll work wonders.

Knowing this doesn’t magically solve your problems, and it certainly doesn’t make life any easier. The struggles you face will be present regardless of this knowledge. But “life sucks, and then you die” can serve as a reminder that you’ve been here before, you will be here again, and, despite that, you’re still standing.

Heavy class loads often make opportunities for free time few and far between, but it’s important to keep your body healthy, and that includes working out. Whether you pick HOTWORX, Pure Barre, Club Pilates or the McLane Student Life Center, workout classes are a great option.

Whether or not someone grew up with a foreign language influence in their life, anyone at any stage can learn a new language with the right amount of effort. If you need some reasoning as to why you should make learning a new language a priority in your busy schedule, there is no shortage of amazing benefits to having a bilingual brain.

Following Jesus, then, isn’t just a call to go to church on Easter or keep a Bible on a bookshelf. It’s a call to become like Him. To think how He thought, to live like He lived, to treat others in light of His sacrifice for them.

As a former Starbucks barista, I used to dread the start of fall drinks. Every August, my coworkers and I would be bombarded by groups of people enthusiastically ordering the most famous seasonal drink: the pumpkin spice latte. I’ll admit, when I was a 15-year-old, I also enjoyed a festive pumpkin beverage, but after working at Starbucks and being around it, I’ll say it doesn’t deserve the hype that it gets.

The Bible does not reject capital punishment, but it does provide requirements for it. A person can be killed justly if they have killed unjustly, but they must also be treated with humanity in the process.

Ensuring that the next generation of teens prioritizes their safety and has a healthy relationship with alcohol can only be done if proactive measures are taken now. Alcohol is such an integral part of American culture, meaning telling teens not to experiment with it until they are 21 is the same as taunting the forbidden fruit.

As college students, finding time to volunteer or pinpointing meaningful ways to give back to the community can sometimes be a challenge. However, if your heart feels called to serve, there are plenty of great organizations across Waco where you can be a positive influence. One such organization is STARS Book Clubs, where you can make an impact for many years to come.

There used to be a time when, regardless of whether a student had COVID-19 or not, they did not have to go to classes if they felt sick. And why should they? It’s not fair to the student or their fellow classmates and professors. During the pandemic, all parties understood the importance of taking sick days. Now, however, the attendance policy is back in place.

Maybe you enjoy something obscure, or perhaps your taste is very mainstream, but I think it’s safe to say that everyone has experienced judgment for their interests. You might think some tastes are so egregious they deserve to be judged (I’m talking to the canned tuna lovers here), but judging others for things that make them happy doesn’t promote healthy relationships among friends.

As a society, we need to be careful with technology. We can’t let it be our downfall or truly rely on it for everything. The growth of AI can be seen as cool, but it can also be very dangerous to us. Be careful with what you say near your phone because you never know who may be listening.

Food is a topic that will never grow old. I’ve been discussing whether pineapple goes on pizza since the Cheetah Girls were still making movies. Some conversations get heated, and others are just outlandish. Let’s dive into some popular food debates.

In order for the university to uphold its commitment to respecting all people, that would mean providing dietary accommodations for practicing Muslim first-year students specifically, since they are required to purchase a meal plan. These students deserve to feel comfortable eating on campus without fear that they are going against their religious beliefs by doing so.

Being in college for three years has taught me many things, the most important being the best ways to elevate a 50-cent cup of instant noodles. There are a lot of different ingredients that can be added to this staple to make it a little more interesting.

While Fabled is obviously much smaller than Barnes & Noble, I think it has many qualities that make it more desirable to go to than the well-known bookstore. I would encourage people to forget about Barnes & Noble and support the local Fabled Bookshop & Cafe instead.

There were good parts of Line Camp, such as the friends I made and the knowledge I left with. It also helped familiarize me with the campus and nearby areas. However, between the emotional rollercoaster and the sleep deprivation, it was overbearing and a bit peculiar at times.
