All services offered by the Counseling Center are free, including telehealth services, face-to-face counseling and the mental health clinical support line. However, some programs that fall under the health services category — such as general medical care, medical nutrition therapy and psychiatric services — require payment, which is usually covered by insurance.

Writing letters to yourself, while it might sound silly, is a way of documenting moments and creating a time capsule of sorts. By writing letters, you talk about your present circumstances and are able to reflect on what you would like yourself to remember or know in the future. You are able to learn more about yourself, process and reevaluate what is truly important in your life.

When I tell people I went to an all-girls high school, it’s almost always followed by, “Wasn’t that so much drama?” Don’t get me wrong — it was. But the confidence and self-development that come with an all-girls education are unique, and you can’t find them anywhere else.

Sports is a journey, and for some fans, that journey is smooth sailing, while for others, it’s complete torture. However, the feeling of watching your team climb out of the gutter back into relevance is a glorious experience. So, whenever you’re watching your team get dusted in the third quarter of a game by what feels like a comical amount of points, try to cling to hope. Remember every dog has its day, and no team can stay bad forever.

Intentionality in friendships can be hard, especially when we have a million things to do and places to be. Finding the time to hang out with someone or even reach out in the first place might sound easy to some but stressful to others. We often wait for someone else to make the first move. But why wait to initiate?

Aging is a natural process — one that will happen to us all. It means that we’ve lived a full life, experiencing the highs and lows that come with it. Scars that tell either really silly or super cool stories. Smile lines that show we’ve enjoyed the time we have had. Aging is inevitable, but some spend hundreds of thousands of dollars every year to prevent it. Why do we still try to preserve something that we know is so fleeting?

When talking about artificial “intelligence,” most people assume that the model is right and that it can be trusted. However, AI models are learning models, which means they are basically students. They consume information and spit it out when asked. This does not mean the information spit out is always right.

One of my favorite classic rom-coms is “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” but even with its witty, humorous take on dating, it presents an interesting phenomenon: Women are extremely aware of what it takes to keep (or lose) a man. But is that same knowledge really projected to men as well? In my dating experience, the overwhelming answer is no. So, why not flip the script? Here’s how to lose a girl in 10 days.

No matter how close you get with your barber, understand that this is how they make their livelihood and is not something to be dealt with lightly. Stay loyal, don’t switch up and cherish the companionship that lies ahead.

Mindfulness is the act of being present, the ability to be aware. You begin to perceive people in the right way since you can see everyone for who they really are. Your mind begins to take control, rather than your heart. Choices become clearer, and if they’re hazy, they’re easier to figure out. Mindfulness makes each moment more precious than the next.

If you’re vegan or vegetarian and your diet works for you and your wallet while also making you feel healthy, that’s amazing. However, the diet and lifestyle is not feasible for everyone, and it takes money and dedication, as well as being in tune with your body and knowing its limits.

If you are grieving and struggling to process, don’t seclude yourself. Let others in. Help yourself unpack the events that have happened, whether they occurred years ago or recently. Let the calm after the storm come.

For some, the idea of doing this in a completely new country can be too much. If you don’t want to travel to a new country but still want to do a study abroad program, Baylor has plenty of options for you.

Our desire for independence has become self-destructive. Life has become a game where whoever holds out the longest before asking for help is the winner. But what do they win? It’s time to change the rules of the game. We win by admitting our weaknesses and allowing those who love us to fill in the gaps.

Climate change is real and affects millions across the globe. While air pollution in relation to greenhouse gases is inevitable, an energy crisis remains under our control. Traditional fossil fuels are more efficient, geopolitically safer and less expensive than green energy, and nuclear energy remains on the rise as the next best option.

To ban the use of an emerging technology simply out of fear will result in unfamiliarity with a tool of the future. Generative AI programs will not just disappear because educational institutions don’t like their capability for dishonesty.

It isn’t that spending time alone is wrong. Everyone needs to recharge. But when “recharging” becomes a go-to activity, we need a paradigm shift. Fulfillment comes through relationships and community; isolation compounds bad habits and leaves us more lonely than ever.

A recent study found that Waco is among the top 10 emerging housing markets in the nation. This statistic isn’t surprising considering the area’s massive increase in popularity, likely due to a combination of Baylor and Magnolia. Growth can be a good thing, but it has presented a new issue for students: more expensive rent.

So, was it unbearably hot? Absolutely. Did I wait for three hours? You bet. Was it worth it? Without a doubt. The Baylor Line is not just about running to hype up the football team; it’s about camaraderie, tradition and the unforgettable memories and friends you make along the way.

I now know by heart how to make the best macaroni and cheese. To make the best dish, you must genuinely love the people you’re preparing it for. Love them enough to set ample time aside and to create an organized plan to begin the process. A rushed, cheesy macaroni dish will strip it of its best-tasting potential, creating only a tolerable, half-liked cooking reputation for yourself.
