Not slowing down after their Big 12 Championship win, Baylor put away the Cowboys with an 11-point win.
The Bears fought hard for the doubles point and took victories on courts two, four and five in singles to clinch the win over Wake Forest.
The freshman sprinter has been a standout for the Bears this season and was named Big 12 Women’s Outstanding Freshman of the Year.
Even though she hasn’t been able to contribute on the court just yet, Penn State transfer Kamaria McDaniel eager to learn from the process and culture of the Baylor women’s basketball.
The Bears are on a seven game tear taking a close win over the Horned Frogs on Thursday.
“There are lots and lots of takeaways,” McGuyre said. “From our middle transition, to a little bit of the scheming to some trust factors … we can battle test in some of our matches going forward.”
Both golf squads wrapped up their tournaments in 11th place this week, with the women’s team breaking their undefeated streak in North Carolina.
The Bears were back at home to take a 4-0 win over SHSU.

Men's Basketball
The Baylor Bears will host the Iowa State Cyclones at 8 p.m. today in the Ferrell Center in a crucial Big 12 Conference match up. With both teams knotted at 7-5 in conference, this single game could determine seeding in the Big 12 tournament and eventually in the NCAA tournament.
“Every home game is so critical, especially at this time of the year in the Big 12,” Baylor head coach Scott Drew said. “We’ve won two out of our last three and we need to keep that momentum going.”
The Baylor Bears lost Saturday 81-61 to the No. 10 team in the nation, the Kansas State Wildcats. The Wildcats forced the Bears into 19 turnovers and dominated the second half of play.
Baylor played competitive basketball with Kansas State in the first half, but too many turnovers and mistakes led to the loss.
The Baylor Bears went into Manhattan, Kan. prepared to take on the No. 10 team in the country, the Kansas State Wildcats. The Wildcats proved that they were worthy of their lofty ranking as they controlled the game and ended up winning 81-61 in front of a raucous crowd in Fred Bramlage Coliseum.

The Baylor Lady Bears took care of unfinished business, defeating Notre Dame 80-61. “Now you can see we did something,” sophomore Odyssey Sims said.
Unfinished business has not been the motto of only the Baylor Lady Bears this season. After losing 76-70 to Texas A&M in the National Championship last year, Notre Dame claims this slogan as well.
Stanford wanted its shot at No. 1 Baylor all season long, and they got it. The Lady Bears defeated the Cardinal 59-47 to advance to the National Championship.

In the 2023 season, Major League Baseball officials added the pitch clock to aid the speed of the game. After the season and now into 2024, I’ve seen that the pitch clock has been very useful and has accelerated the pace of the game.
