Amid ongoing staff shortages, Baylor students are taking steps to ensure a smooth Easter break. Some turn to smaller airports, such as Dallas Love Field and Waco, while others plan to arrive early.
Baylor students set out to tackle one of the deadliest issues in college campuses across the country: accidental drug overdose. Cypress sophomore Avery Brunkhorst and Frisco junior Mikehla Gibbons founded a Waco Chapter of the national nonprofit End Overdose to do their part in fighting the epidemic.
Two current Pre-Health mentors, Placentia, Calif., junior Molly Laporte and Chicago junior Carter Wright, said the drive to mentor came from a desire to give freshmen the support they wished they had or deeply appreciated when they were in the same shoes.
As of Wednesday, Chief Investment Officer David Morehead said he expected the endowment to end the month near $2.5 billion, up from $2.4 billion at the end of September and a further increase from its $2.17 billion balance in May 2025. The endowment contributes 5% of its value back to Baylor each year, so each dollar the endowment makes puts five cents into Baylor’s operating budget.
For the Texas Senate seats, Republican Sen. John Cornyn is in a primary runoff against Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton on May 26. Cornyn led the March 3 primary 43% to 41%, but neither cleared the majority threshold. Trump has not endorsed either candidate. Democrats have not won statewide in Texas since 1994. Democratic state Rep. James Talarico won his party’s nomination over Rep. Jasmine Crockett. A March Impact Research poll showed Talarico leading Cornyn 43% to 41% and Paxton 44% to 43% among likely voters.

While most of Baylor’s defense will be new this upcoming season, the linebacker room will be bringing back key players from a year ago. The linebackers look to be a consistent presence on a brand new defense.
Fifth-year offensive lineman Kaden Sieracki and junior Koltin Sieracki got a glimpse of playing on the same line, just like in high school. As the only returning offensive linemen, their bond has helped the transfer-heavy unit.

With the first week of classes almost out of the way, it’s time to put down the syllabi and take a breather. Here are some local events to try out before your classwork gets too crazy.
On social media platforms, Baylor showcases images of its beautiful campus, smiling students and graduate success stories, all reinforcing a promise of personal, academic and professional achievement. While these photos of perfection and happiness are a nice visual, they do not accurately reflect the stress and competitive nature many students, myself included, experience behind the scenes.
The world is full of war, unrest, starvation and strife. America itself struggles with political turmoil, disunity and evil. While millions of things vie for our attention and beg to be fixed, one of our biggest defenses is compartmentalization.
At a time when conversations about immigration and national identity dominate American political discourse, looking to Scripture to find guidance and clarity presents itself to Christians as a dire and urgent matter.
The Bible counters self-love culture’s mantra of independence, and instead it teaches us that we are made whole through utter dependence on God and engagement with the community of the Church.
Stress is real. Overwhelm is real. Mental health struggles are real. But not every moment of discomfort, pressure or frustration is a crisis. When we label everything as one, we do real harm to people experiencing genuine emergencies and who rely on systems designed to respond to true crises.
In 2026, the world’s biggest sporting event comes to North America. Three countries. Millions of fans. One shared passion. The World Cup isn’t just about what happens on the field — it’s about the moments that bring the world together.
