As part of Viking Week, which is named after the fraternity’s mascot, Alpha Tau Omega will host a variety of fundraising events next week benefiting CoHOPE — an international nonprofit named after Coho Menk, who died in 2017.

Chi Omega and Alpha Tau Omega are set to host their annual philanthropy event Friday: the Chili Cook-Off and Bed Races. For those who have never been to the event before, Tomball senior and Chi Omega president Campbell Fox described it with the highest excitement.
Enduring the fake blood in the Fright Night haunted house supports getting real blood to hospitals in need across the country. All donations and revenue earned from T-shirt sales support the American Red Cross.
Kappa Delta Chi, a Latina-based sorority at Baylor, sold aguas frescas at the Bill Daniel Student Center to celebrate the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month on Sept. 15. The event was the first of weekly fundraisers that the sorority will hold over the next month.
The event—which is open to the public—will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday in Lots 2 and 3 at McLane Stadium. Attending organ donors and recipients will be able to put their handprints on the Donate Life Texas NASCAR, symbolizing the name of the event, “Handprints for Hope.” According to SODA’s Instagram, a “celebration about the power of organ donation” ceremony will be followed by a meet and greet with NASCAR driver Joey Gase.
With the goal of raising awareness against domestic violence and promoting healthy relationships, Alpha Chi Omega is currently hosting Healthy Relationships Week.
Baylor’s chapter of Kappa Phi Gamma, a South Asian interest sorority, hosted its first in-person CARE Week since the pandemic this week. The event, which stands for “Cancer Awareness, a Real Effort,” is dedicated to the sorority’s philanthropy of cancer awareness.
The sorority’s overall goal for the year is to raise $200,000 to go toward their philanthropy. DHOP costed $10 for an event pass and those who paid received pancakes and their names put into a raffle to earn a gift card and other prizes. Along with these, the event included merchandise such as t-shirts and stickers that were designed by a local St. Jude’s patient.
For the second semester in a row, Baylor’s Philanthropy and the Public Good class distributed thousands of dollars in grant money to nonprofits.
