It’s not easy to hear opposing viewpoints and beliefs that differ from your own while keeping an open mind, but it’s important nonetheless. It takes everybody to create a culture of understanding through civil discourse. Be the change in a conversation. Be the devil’s advocate.

While it can be entertaining to point out flaws and have a giggle at some of the funnier moments of Sing, it’s important to try to put yourself in the shoes of a performer before you post something degrading about their act.

Maybe you enjoy something obscure, or perhaps your taste is very mainstream, but I think it’s safe to say that everyone has experienced judgment for their interests. You might think some tastes are so egregious they deserve to be judged (I’m talking to the canned tuna lovers here), but judging others for things that make them happy doesn’t promote healthy relationships among friends.

You chose your major for a reason. Don’t judge someone else for theirs.

The answer is very clear. Judgment and mean comments directed toward other women just “aren’t giving” — so to speak. Please give the “pick-me” label a rest.
