“Our goal is not to be converts,” Yeager said. “Our goal is to get people the gospel, have them understand the power of Christ’s gospel that is available to their life, allow them to receive that and create a space where we’re facilitating the gospel in a way that leads to discipleship.”

In 1945, a group of Baylor students began leading a series of worship gatherings that came to be known as the Waco Youth Revivals. The meetings sparked a nationwide Youth Revival Movement that is registered as one of the largest student-led revivals in American history. Today, FM72 leaders believe God can “do it again.”

“We prayed, you know, at the beginning of FaceTime that we wanted to be part of the heartbeat of Baylor University,” Olayinka Obasanya, founder and director of FaceTime with God, said. “I think we’ve established that prayer; I think we’ve seen…God establish that prayer through us and we want to continue to be that at Baylor.”

Our faith is an opportunity to transcend this world and get a glimpse of the heavenly banquet that awaits us. But to make use of this opportunity, we must quiet ourselves in peaceful contemplation. We must remember that Christians have been practicing for over 2,000 years, and that many traditional hymns are rooted in this rich, longstanding history. We must abandon contemporary frivolities that disrupt sacred celebrations.

One thing that has been difficult for me to understand at times is God’s timing. There is one main difference between my timing and God’s timing. God’s timing is perfect. Mine is not.

Upon first glance at the Church of Wells website, one would get the impression that this is a youthful group of scrupulous believers working to further the word of God in a small Texas town. After digging a bit deeper, the reports of death, condemnation to hell, seclusion and arranged marriages paint an eerily different picture. We are not here to argue about the way that they practice their faith, but we are outraged at the way that they are allowing it to manifest in the lives of other people.
