“As long as I can remember, I wanted to be a lawyer who helps kids, and Adoption Day made Baylor Law an easy choice for me,” Kitchenka said. “My favorite part is seeing the joy on the families’ faces when their adoptions are finalized. It’s such a meaningful and fun day for everyone involved.”

“I really, really appreciated that the university took the initiative to allow us to have an official voice and an official presence,” Jortner said. “There’s a big difference between one professor in the theater program arguing for something and an organization of faculty saying, ‘We speak as one, and this is a concern.’”

Asian Mosaic Night, hosted by the Department of Multicultural Affairs, celebrated diversity at Baylor by bringing students, faculty and staff together through music, food and tabling at 5:30 p.m. in the Barfield Drawing Room at the Bill Daniel Student Center. It was also an opportunity for students to learn about Baylor’s Coalition of Asian Students.
