The event benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and combines pancakes with cornhole to entertain the attendees, according to Ringgold, Ga., senior and Tri Delt president, Savannah Friant.

Chi Omega and Alpha Tau Omega are pairing once again to bring the heat to Baylor’s campus with their Chili Cook-off and Bed Races (CCOBR). The event will kick off on Friday from 6-9 p.m., on the Quadrangle and 5th St.

Foster Pavilion was filled with the sounds of whining guitars, feisty fiddles, cowboy boot stomping and raucous cheers for Tucker Wetmore’s first arena performance at Foster Pavilion Thursday.

Fountain Mall was lined with tents Wednesday, each bearing baskets of fresh produce. Even a live DJ was present as Baylor students and Waco locals stopped by the Free Farmers Market, open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Alpha Chi Omega hosted their annual Block Party event on Thursday on Fountain Mall with Sigma Chi, the first time these groups have paired for this event.

Strings of all sounds, shapes and sizes filled Jones Concert Hall on Monday night for the first Baylor Symphony Orchestra concert of the fall semester. Conductor Jeffrey Grogan led the group in playing Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 in E minor, his first concert conducting the group.

Suddenly, high-pitched screams erupted, heads flipped toward the glowing stage and the crowd surged forward as the man himself stepped up to the mic and kicked off the night with “Never Get Tired (of Loving You).”

Howdy, a longstanding tradition in the Baylor community, brought students together to celebrate the start of the fall semester and raise money for Pi Phi’s philanthropy, “Read>Lead>Achieve,” through music, dancing and western fashion.

A free concert is in order ahead of the football game on Saturday against Arizona State, featuring alumni and Texas locals, the Graham St. Clair Band.

Attendees stood with arms raised in worship as Daigle sang hits throughout the night, such as “Look Up Child,” “Trust In You,” “Rescue” and her new single, “Let It Be a Hallelujah.” In between songs, she interacted with the crowd by signing a poster, shouting out a fan who brought her Super Bowl jersey and listening to the worship as she let the voices in the crowd cry out during choruses.

From barbecue and tacos to gourmet boba and sweet treats, the showcase gave students a chance to explore the city’s food scene without leaving campus.

Woofstock, Alpha Phi’s biggest philanthropy event of the year, supported women’s heart health with a cutest dog contest surrounded by food trucks, a bouncy castle and plenty of photo ops. The event was held Wednesday evening at Bear Park.

On Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., three professors gathered together to discuss the impact of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit Broadway production, “Hamilton,” in celebration of the show’s 10-year anniversary.

With February kicking off, Black History Month is in full swing for the Black Student Union, and there is no shortage of events to attend and activities to participate in according to Cypress senior Brooklyn Joseph, the organization’s president.

On Feb. 4, Moody Library will host the third meeting of its Meet the Author series. This time, the event will feature Dr. Terry York, a retired Baylor music professor, who will discuss his book, “Kurt Kaiser: Icon and Conscience of Contemporary Christian Music,” which dives into the composer’s story. During the discussion, York will be interviewed by Robert Darden, a former journalism professor, about Kaiser’s lasting impact on church music.
