“I appreciate it a lot more, because I’m getting to be a part of the hard work instead of just having it done for me,” Everitt said. “I think it was a good experience and a good way to meet the other people in our hall.”

On Aug. 8, Baylor filed a lawsuit against Boston University for its use of the logo, an image that Baylor has used since 1912. Baylor first confronted Boston over its use of the logo in 2021, but the iconic BU logo has since found its way onto more of Boston University’s memorabilia and is now associated with several of the school’s club sports.

MSPL follows the model “Pray, Stay, Raise and Go” when facing disasters, according to Sarah Walker, BearAid senior coordinator for service. Directly following the disaster, BearAid stays in Waco, allowing first responders to do their jobs and praying for those affected. Now, BearAid and MSPL are in the raise phase.

Baylor’s campus was put on lockdown at 11:50 a.m. on Thursday due to a shelter-in-place alert after a threat on campus. Most students were notified about the lockdown, but multiple students mentioned not receiving the message, and Line Camp attendees did not have their phones.

If the president is unable to properly control his own branch — if he is forced to tolerate an array of rogue bureaucrats who think taking matters into their own hands is somehow akin to saving the republic — then the Editorial Board is unfortunately correct: The president is really little more than a figurehead.
