The city of Waco was officially inducted into the Texas Main Street program Thursday. Wacoans of all ages, state dignitaries, local chambers of commerce and first lady of Texas Anita Perry gathered at the Waco Convention Center to celebrate the city’s downtown district, honoring its history and modern growth and progress.
A Baylor sophomore found the blood-covered body of a man at 9 a.m. Thursday while running along the Brazos River near the 200 block of University Parks Drive.
Worship, messages and praise will all come together Monday night. Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty will be joined by singer/songwriter Matt Wertz and speakers Joe White and Dave Barnes at 8 p.m. Monday in the Ferrell Center with After Dark, locally known as Crossroads. The event is sponsored by Baylor Athletics and Spiritual Life.
Students will have the opportunity to light up the night with glow sticks, neon shirts and black lights in the new spring charity event Ready, Set, Glow!
The body of a male Baylor student was found today in a chemically hazardous vehicle near University Parks Drive and Donaldson Lane, said Lori Fogleman, assistant vice president for media communications.

This March, Cameron Park Zoo introduced four new camels and two new ostriches to the zoo community. The staff hopes to encourage hands-on care and compassion for these animals to inspire a heart for conservation and animal activism in younger generations of zoo-goers.

Men’s and women’s basketball each landed their first transfer of the offseason, a Baylor alum competed at the Masters and tennis wrapped up its regular season.

The Texas Food Truck Showdown celebrated its 10th anniversary this Saturday at Heritage Square. The festivities kicked off at 10 a.m., with 37 food trucks with offerings ranging from sweet treats to birria.
