With the election coming up, we ought to attend in-person political events, especially events hosted by political parties we are not affiliated with. By watching and listening to people talk about their political standings, we add a sense of humanity to our differences.

Those with a platform have a responsibility that comes with it. Acting as role models for their young, impressionable fanbases is one of them. Instead streamers, with some of the largest followings, are riddled with hatefulness, erratic behavior, toxic masculinity and misogyny.

We know most of you read a column from the Lariat about fall and its down-“falls.” That was a misrepresentation of our true character. The fact is we love fall. We love pumpkin spice, Starbucks and Ugg boots.

Every homecoming matters. Whether it is your first Baylor Homecoming, your second, third or even 20th, we can gain more precious moments here in the place we spent years calling home. Even when new traditions are formed, we can always appreciate looking back at past homecomings with fondness, and these memories grow more dear the older we become.

If you have never picked up a golf club and you’re a business major, add golf lessons and golf clubs to your Christmas list. And if you already play golf as a business major, keep practicing. Nothing is more embarrassing than shooting a 107 with a potential client.

I get that “we’re a basketball school” and being in Texas automatically makes football a big deal, but Baylor’s other sports teams are just as important and deserve more support from the student body.

For Vance, the issue comes from having to defend — whether he believes them or not — the often baseless claims of former President Trump. For Walz, the challenge is defending Vice President Harris as she continues to be tight-lipped on policy plans.

Being busy college students can get us into the habit of being work-minded all the time. Being dedicated to your studies and working a job are both good things — but you’re still a kid. Having fun and being joyful is important.

Reject modernity. Return to a lifestyle of awe and wonderment.

More often than not, young women bear the brunt of Greek life stereotypes and negativity. From TikTok OOTDs to YikYak opinions, it seems like women are consistently being put down.

We live in a culture that glorifies business. A culture that says a packed schedule makes you successful. However, taking time to slow down and do nothing is not only OK — it’s necessary. The government’s role should be to protect the rights of all citizens, regardless of their religious or philosophical beliefs. This will let each person follow their conscience freely, whether that leads them to embrace the Christian faith, another religion or no religion at all. Enforcing religious beliefs through law undermines the freedom of conscience that is essential to our faith.

There are certainly blessings and grace to be had, but it’s silly to give credit to something intangible when you could appreciate what is right in front of you.

Receiving recognition is a great thing, but when it’s our main motivation, it becomes a huge problem.
