And if they’re walking from set to set, they’re going to get tired. And if they get tired, they’re going to need more energy. And to get more energy, they’re going to need to eat. Good thing ACL has plenty of great local food vendors to choose from. So let’s cut this “If You Give A Mouse A Cookie” stuff out and dig into the best bites of ACL Fest!

If you’re looking for a vintage atmosphere and delicious food, this is your place. Jake’s Texas Tea House serves an array of dishes from burgers to ribs, but its crème de la crème are its pies. They come in a variety of flavors, from pecan to buttermilk, and will have you coming back for more. The restaurant has a gas station theme and features an array of vintage cars, signs and hubcaps within its dining area.

When walking into the Bill Daniel Student Center’s food court, it’s easy to pile up in the Chick-fil-A line. The comfort of the chicken sandwich lures students into long waits. But right next door is a new Asian fusion restaurant, Asian Tako, that will make you quickly forget all about the waffle fries.

“She has a heart of gold and her mission, honest to God, is to love you, and she is going to do it with these cinnamon rolls,” Cook said. “My suspicion is that the secret to Kimberly’s success has far more to do with how she treats other people than even the quality of her product.”

To me, one of the best sides on Earth is a slice of bread. Not just any bread, but a crispy slice of Italian restaurant bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic glaze. It’s the perfect compliment to most dishes, but especially a good, comforting pasta.
