“People like it here,” Gonzales said. “A space this beautiful deserves to get daily attention. Otherwise, it’s a waste.”

“It’s great to see so many people come together to celebrate their own cultures,” Huebner said. “It was neat to learn new things and see dances that originate from different cultures.”
“For a university to even have a mission trip commissioning is like empowering,” he said. “Baylor recognizes that students are going on mission and, even further, supports us in prayer and commissioning. It’s an incredible feeling.”
“I decided to adopt Fred because I knew, first of all, that he needed a home, but also because I just love cats,” she said.
“I think it would be good for Christians who are growing in their faith to explore this topic,” she said. “It also deepens our appreciation for what He did for us.”
I don’t find SAAM “triggering” at all. It warms my heart and inspires me to do things like what I’m doing right now — going beyond my comfort zone to bring light to an issue that affects our Baylor community and beyond. I hope to help others who have experienced it to understand it better and feel less alone.
“As someone whose path has led from Baylor to a career at the intersection of arts, entrepreneurship, politics and community-building, I’m excited to help students see that not knowing exactly what’s next isn’t a flaw,” she said. “It’s a canvas of your potential.”
“It truly brings me so much joy to see them graduate at the end of the program. I feel so much joy hearing them describe what the program has been like for them and getting to this point of success,” Hernandez said. “It could bring me to tears.”
The nutrition sciences department, under Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences, offers a Peer Nutrition Advisement Program in which pre-dietetic undergraduate students help you develop a plan to accomplish your dietary and fitness goals. Free for up to three sessions, this one-on-one partnership allows the adviser to give personalized guidelines that fit one’s lifestyle and current dietary habits.
FM72 is an annual tradition where members of the Baylor community and beyond gather on Fountain Mall for 72 hours of prayer, worship, scripture readings and more. Beginning in 2018, FM72 has seen a nationwide impact, helping develop ministries such as Passion and the Journeyman Mission Program.
In college, we kind of forget to take care of ourselves,” he said.
“Through this job, I get to learn about wellness topics, and that can be incorporated into my college life.”
“Our scientists and researchers are really on the right track, and it’s a blessing to be a part of that,” Romo said.
“Radical unity and radical prayer have spurred on an extraordinary movement of God at Baylor University over the past seven years,” he said.
“One less student having to experience any level of hunger or food insecurity is a step in the right direction,” he said.
“All week we are offering a space for students to surrender their scales if the scale causes them any undue burden or stress,” Mastin said.
Many of us struggle with anxiety because we do not give ourselves time to breathe. When was the last time you took a day to yourself? When was the last time you spent your morning solely on journaling or working through a devotional? When was the last time you intentionally reflected on what areas of life you need growth in or what you’re most thankful for?
“The Career Center was the main reason that I even figured out what I even wanted to do,” she said.
“Conducting research through the SEA-PHAGES program was the first time in my academic career where I felt what I learned in class contributed to the public good,” Cloud said
Baylor Counseling Center’s therapy groups are facilitated by experts to provide healing through communal support and professional advice. The groups are catered to the specific needs of students provided by feedback, according to Teran Yaklin, associate director of clinical operations.
“I donate blood because I love to give when I can,” she said. “I know that there are people out there that are in need, and if I can help them, then I feel like it is my responsibility to.”
The course is not discipline-specific, but “student-specific,” Senior Lecturer of biology and course instructor Tammy Adair said. Though the course is open for any student to register for, the Office of Engaged Learning sends out calls to professors for recommendations in order to select students with interests and ambitions that the course specifically tackles. Many of the students who take it are nominated.
“Our internship program is sought after by doctoral intern applicants because it provides powerful experiences in helping therapists grow both professionally and personally,” he said.
Recent winter chills and freezing temperatures caught many by surprise and also risked the health of many. The flu is currently spreading around campus, but current bronchitis and pneumonia outbreaks are creating a riskier health setting.
“There’s an awareness that the words you share could be used by God to shape the future of thousands of lives,” Pokluda said. “My desired goal is always to point people to Jesus and to remind them that their lives matter in His story. Speaking at Passion is an opportunity to pour into the next generation of leaders, and that responsibility is one I don’t take lightly.”
Our society forces everything from political figures and media companies into one of two political categories. It’s become an unstoppable battle that should never have begun.
“Our graduate student population is growing, and we will continue to see an exponential rise in master’s and doctoral degrees, which is testament to Baylor’s distinct place in higher education as an R1 Christian university,” Fogleman said.
“There’s a magic about experiencing it first-hand that photos just can’t capture,” she said.
“This subject is extremely relevant to students and the need to always be aware of your surroundings, whether you are in the dorms, on campus or traveling,” Childers said. “A student’s best defense in staying safe is maintaining a heightened sense of awareness.”
“It definitely exceeded my expectations,” Ramirez said. “It was the best month of my entire life.”
“The fact that our faculty are among the most cited of people across their disciplines says that the contributions that we’re making in those areas are meaningful and impactful, not just on our campus, but beyond our university and to the larger community.”
