This album a great finale to work of the late Mac Miller. His experimental sounds and vulnerability within his lyrics create a safe place. Miller’s innovative taste and drive to create something different gives me hope for the future of music. After listening to the same three albums for the past six months, I’m happy to say I have a fourth one in the rotation.
I know it’s not everyone’s ideal plan to stay in Waco over the summer. But, there really shouldn’t be a stigma around saving money on rent, utilizing local internships and having time to explore Waco’s culture outside of a busy semester.
Living for the future is a deeply rooted mantra younger generations live by, and the pressure to do so creates a methodical way of life. With quickly developing technology, we all have the chance to catch up with one another and view content from around the world within seconds. What about living in the now?
Overall, seeing people eye-to-eye can help you appreciate the value of their life. No more excuses of, “Oh, they don’t believe this or that.” Life is short, and we need more people who can see someone for who they are and not what they believe in.
“I didn’t think there was any reason to be nervous since the last serious tornado in Waco was in the 1950s,” Tucker said. “I did have some pretty serious hail damage to my car; I definitely wasn’t expecting that, it didn’t seem like hail was a real possibility since it had been so hot earlier that week.”
Every spring semester, Baylor mulches and fertilizes parts of campus that didn’t survive the winter months. On April 15, 2021, student government presented a bill — initially totaling around $9,000 — that would fund the planting of nine trees around campus.
Another thing they have in common is the spilling problem. Stanley cups leak when you just tip it just a tad. Although Hydro Flasks are clearly the better product, my biggest spilling problem is from that. I have had so many days where my backpack has been soaked from the bottle spilling everywhere.
Back in 2001, Zeta Phi Beta teamed up with the National Panhellenic Council and several other organizations to bring together the Baylor community with performances to support each other’s philanthropies. StompFest was originally known as “Afro-Olympics” then.
On Monday, SEWP hosted a plant market at Fountain Mall where every plant sold out. On Tuesday, they organized a clothing swap in the same place which included clothes from all brands such as Urban Outfitters and Lululemon. Items were being sold at $3 or students could opt to trade with others. The leftover clothes were then donated to local places in Waco. On Wednesday, they hosted a profit share with Cha Community.
President of the Baylor Gymnastics Club Ali Harvey was able to lead her team to nationals twice as president. In the 2022-23 season, Baylor Gymnastics placed fifth in the nation at nationals in Memphis,Tenn., making it a strong finale for Harvey’s final season.
The event will consist of sports tournaments and more, that are available to any students that come with a team formed. Their overall goal is to raise $10,000 in support of their philanthropies; American Red Cross and CASA.
“One in 10 students are registered with OALA. Doing this event with the Student Government can help bring people together and move forward as a student body,” Colihan said. “I really feel like we can use this union to both of our advantages by furthering Student Government, while promoting accessibility for all.”
aKDPhi is an Asian interest sorority, but not limited to those of Asian heritage. Their mission, according to their organization’s website, is to provide “members with lifelong empowerment, support and friendships through sisterhood.”
Baylor’s Counseling Center offers different services and tools students can use to talk about the problems they are experiencing to a professional, some counselors specialize in relationships.
Getting engaged while you are an undergraduate student is different, in the sense that it’s more a promise than an actual agreement. Actually “tying the knot” is a big responsibility. If you can barely wash your dishes, cook for yourself, budget your money or do general chores, you are not ready for marriage.
The sorority’s overall goal for the year is to raise $200,000 to go toward their philanthropy. DHOP costed $10 for an event pass and those who paid received pancakes and their names put into a raffle to earn a gift card and other prizes. Along with these, the event included merchandise such as t-shirts and stickers that were designed by a local St. Jude’s patient.
“Our kindness reflects the heart of our Father. “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32),” Witmer said.
The Baylor Gymnastics Club will compete in nationals from Wednesday to Sunday in Memphis, Tenn.
The fundraiser, held in Fountain Mall, consisted of the sell of items like stickers and popsicles priced at $2. Along with the purchase, the buddies and Bitty and Beau’s — a coffee shop that focuses in employing people with intellectual and developmental disabilities — employees wrote thank you letters for supporting the foundation.
“The issue is that there are no healthy places,” Kotnani said. “No one will go through a drive-thru and get the healthiest options, including myself sometimes. To help mitigate, we provide recipes for these people to do at home, including ones with ingredients that you might already have.”
For over 20 years, members of Phi Kappa Chi — a fraternity founded on serving others — have volunteered at the Christian outdoor adventure youth camp.
