Looking to claim a three-game winning streak for the first time since 2022, Baylor football will host its first “blackout” since 2016 while celebrating the 2013 and 2014 Big 12 Championship before a rivalry game against TCU at 7 p.m. Saturday at McLane Stadium.

After an injury-riddled 2024 season, some familiar faces at Baylor Ballpark have worked their way back onto the field for Baylor baseball during fall ball and established themselves as cornerstones heading into the 2025 season.

No. 4 Baylor equestrian earned a 12-8 victory over the No. 7 Oklahoma State Cowgirls on Saturday at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.

The Bears earned a 4-1 victory in flat, while OSU won 4-1 in horsemanship to tie both teams at 5. Baylor sealed the win by finishing with a 4-1 advantage in fences to win the Big 12 competition.

Acrobatics and tumbling senior, Ginger Plemmons balances all of the above exceedingly well. She manages to stay focused on the mat and carries a 3.86 GPA.

“Well, I don’t get that much sleep. I mean you just have to stay motivated to succeed at both,” Plemmons said. “So I just study in between practice or really late at night. Whenever I have time really.”

Baylor’s equestrian team scrimmaged Saturday with an exhibition meet against Southern Methodist University. Baylor won Western 6-4 but lost Hunterseat 7-5 and the overall competition after a tiebreaker was enforced.

Baylor’s head coach Ellen White remained upbeat after the meet.

“It was exactly what we wanted to do,” said White.

It was an opportunity to see which players were going to step up and to work out the kinks of hosting an event, White said.

Though her team was not offered an at-large bid to the NCAA West Regional May 5-7, junior Chelsey Cothran became one of six individual golfers offered an at-large bid to travel to Auburn, Wash. Cothran is the first Baylor golfer in program history to receive the individual bid.
