With spring break starting this weekend, Baylor students are gearing up for an escape — but having fun doesn’t have to mean breaking the bank.
According to the National Library of Medicine, only 16.5% of students who intend to major in pre-medicine graduate with the courses required in order to attend medical school. Most students that go to medical school major in biological science, as it is one that extensively overlaps with working in the healthcare field.

According to a Baylor News Flash email sent to students, affected buildings included the Armstrong Browning Library, Bobo Spiritual Life Center, Carroll Library, McMullen-Connally Faculty Center and Tidwell Bible Building. All affected buildings were diverted to auxiliary power.
The discussed topics, which ranged from the mistreatment of Black women in the Antebellum South to the relationship between women’s health and religious institutions, sought to add academic context to a variety of key events in the history of women’s rights.

Just In
Excitement filled the air in Waco as football kicked its season off and volleyball was set for a top-20 clash. The weekend did not go the Bears’ way as football drops a heartbreaker and volleyball gets swept.
No. 17 Florida’s intense service pressure and rally-killing attacks overpower No. 20 Baylor volleyball in the top-20 matchup.
“Everyone believed we [were] going to win; I did, and we fought to try and get that win,” said Aranda. “Guys were playing through pain, discomfort, and all that. It’s one of the reasons for going for it. You know, we had a bunch of guys getting band-aided up, and we had a chance to kind of close it out.”
Baylor decided to try to win the game with a 2-point conversion with nine seconds remaining. The Bears fell inches short of the game-winning conversion, dropping the season opener to Auburn.

All Are Neighbors, held in the Cashion Academic Center, drew 270 ticketed attendees, totaling 352 people, including VIP guests and speakers, nearly filling all available seats. The event was created in response to TPUSA’s presence on campus, but speakers and organizers consistently emphasized that the gathering was not merely reactive. Instead, it functioned as a faith-centered call to action, rooted in Christian teaching and expressed through civic engagement.

ARTS & LIFE
It’s staycation weekend, which means it’s time to take a rest from two weeks of labor and scout out the Waco scene. Here are some activities to get you out, about and away from that assignment you’ve been stuck on.
Lent is not a second chance for the New Year’s resolutions you failed to stick to in January. Lent is not about (briefly) staying off Instagram or (briefly) depriving yourself of M&Ms or (briefly) avoiding the Whataburger drive-thru. Lent is not a secular season — stop making it one.
Without wheels, suddenly we’re stranded. We’re met with the inability to do things, like visit the store and go out to eat, without taking an Uber, ordering delivery or getting a ride from a friend.
I understand you’re probably tired at 8 a.m. and would rather scroll on Instagram than talk to the person next to you, but the effort is so worth it.
Everyone has their preference when it comes to taking notes, but I believe we shouldn’t be restricted on the form of media we take notes on. Let’s give computers another chance in the classroom.
Mental health is just as important as physical health. Getting ahead of a rough patch and knowing how to work on getting better is essential to taking care of yourself.
Besides the fact Baylor’s campus is incredibly beautiful and offers plenty of outdoor study spaces, spending time outside holds many benefits to your well-being.
