In 2008, when Skotnikov was just a toddler she started her gymnastics journey. Her pediatrician said she was in the lower percentile for coordination and recommended physical therapy. But instead she joined rhythmic gymnastics.
“You don’t have to be Hispanic to join, maybe you like the music, or your partner is Hispanic, and you want to be more in touch with their culture or maybe you just want to make friends,” Sanchez said.

Since its founding in January of 2022, LSA has already had a great impact in contributing to the culture of joy at Baylor University. Sunnn is a band for old souls, those who enjoy the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Lumineers and Greta Van Fleet, and their mission is to bring back the folksy, blues and classic rock style of the 1970s.
“Visual aids are more memorable than just text on a page,” Mikulencak said. “What you will remember are those adorable wooden stands and the cool vinyl pawprints on the floor and this big paw print that helped you visualize what your hand looks like next to one of our mascots.”
Be Kind Coffee is now an official vendor which means they are allowed to cater, have pop-ups and take their truck to different parts of campus.
“Jazz is particularly a thing that you have to want to do. You can’t force jazz; it’s not going to come that way.”
Ten years ago, the names of Ben Rector, Vanilla Ice and Cody Johnson would have never been advertised as coming to Waco, but as the city has grown. Its music venues and the artists it attracts has grown with it.
