According to their website, Esther’s Closet has helped over 800 women in their employment journeys, some of whom have gone on to start their own successful businesses.

“It truly brings me so much joy to see them graduate at the end of the program. I feel so much joy hearing them describe what the program has been like for them and getting to this point of success,” Hernandez said. “It could bring me to tears.”
The course represents a new kind of offering from the Center for Global Engagement, in that it gives students of all academic backgrounds an experiential learning opportunity with a domestic company known for its efficiency and innovation.
I know it’s not everyone’s ideal plan to stay in Waco over the summer. But, there really shouldn’t be a stigma around saving money on rent, utilizing local internships and having time to explore Waco’s culture outside of a busy semester.
The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers began an official Baylor chapter in May and is now working to create a community for Hispanic engineers at Baylor.
Baylor in Washington is in full swing this semester as students pursue diverse opportunities related to their career paths, both in and out of the classroom. The semester-long program provides students with the opportunity to live in Washington and gain professional development through an internship.
Students worrying about what to do after graduation can take a new class next semester focusing on professional development.
In the new course titled Professional Development 2101, students will learn about career exploration, internships, resumes, mock interviews and personal statements.
