No. 6 seed Baylor volleyball mounted a third-set comeback to regain momentum after No. 3 seed Purdue dominated the first two sets. The Bears’ rhythm was short-lived as the Boilermakers won the match 3-1, eliminating Baylor from the NCAA Tournament.
Michael Rataj is listed as a guard, but has shifted up the lineup to play center due to injuries. He’s been an indispensable Swiss Army knife for the shorthanded Bears, leading the team in offensive rebounds while chipping in 3.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game.

Men's Basketball
Baylor men’s basketball walked off the court at the Foster Pavilion to roaring applause and singing as John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” blasted over the speakers following the Bears’ 74-71 win over West Virginia in overtime.
The Bears are currently .500 against the top three quadrants. A win over the Mountaineers would be an important addition to their Tournament case.
Head coach Scott Drew implemented a 1-3-1 zone defense against No. 6 Houston in the wake of a starting center Josh Ojianwuna’s season-ending knee injury. It was a rocky debut, but nevertheless offered some reason for optimism.

“My mindset when it comes to helping my team is just to always do it,” Van Gytenbeek said. “I want to be positive, and I want to be trusted by everybody — to know that I’m going to show up and be the same kind of person and do what I need to do for everybody else and always try to be unselfish.”
In a hard-fought contest, the Bears came up just short against the Cyclones in the quarterfinals of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship.
The Bears outscored the Lady Raiders 19-10 in the fourth quarter to secure the 11-point victory in the second round of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship.

Tennis
No. 20 Baylor softball’s head coach Glenn Moore and women’s tennis’ head coach Joey Scrivano both hit win milestones of 1,000 and 500, respectively, in the same week.
Baylor men’s tennis came out firing on all cylinders and swept Southern Methodist University, 4-0, Thursday night in the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex in Dallas.
