Heading into the Big Dance, Wright leads the team in assists per game (4.3) and is third on the team in points per game (11.3). Wright holds the program record for assists as a freshman with 143 and counting. He also set the freshman record for most assists in a single game, dishing out 13 in a 94-69 win over Norfolk State on Dec. 11.
After leading Miami to the Final Four in 2023, graduate forward Norchad Omier lit up the box score in his lone season with No. 9 Baylor men’s basketball, climbing the all-time career leaderboards in college basketball.
Women's Basketball
No. 12 Baylor women’s basketball bolstered its roster with the addition of Florida transfer Aliyah Matharu. The fifth-year guard signed with the Bears on Sunday, making her eligible to wear the green and gold during Big 12 play.
Some people play with their food, but for a team as hungry as No. 12 Baylor women’s basketball, an exhibition match was a perfect time to feast. Bolting out of the gates with the first 11 points of the game, the Bears never looked back and steamrolled Langston, 100-39, in an exhibition match on Sunday afternoon at the Foster Pavilion.
Fresh off her third Olympic gold medal in the 2024 Paris Games, Baylor women’s basketball’s all-time great Brittney Griner will be inducted to the eight-person 2025 Texas Sports Hall of Fame Class on Feb. 15, 2025, it was announced by the Board of Trustees on Thursday.

Tennis
After a week of training, Baylor men’s tennis will head up I-35 to TCU in Fort Worth for the ITA DI Texas Regional Championship at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center, starting Thursday and running through Tuesday.
Baylor women’s tennis is set to host its first event of the fall this weekend, with Nebraska, Missouri, SMU, Tennessee and more competing in the H-E-B Invitational.
As the leaves change and the fall season comes into focus, Baylor men’s tennis will break into pods and open the fall season with the green and gold spread out on a North American tour.
Golf
Men’s golf finished the George Hannon Invitational tied for ninth, led by second-year freshman Johnny Keefer.
Both golf squads wrapped up their tournaments in 11th place this week, with the women’s team breaking their undefeated streak in North Carolina.
