“The blood that’s donated here at Carter BloodCare stays local,” Shipley said. “So you’re potentially helping a family member, friend, neighbor or anyone in your community that might need blood. That’s who you’re giving for.”

Following the Mosaic Mixer, the Department of Multicultural Affairs hosted the annual Black Student Welcome event on Thursday in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) granted $5 million to the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty (BCHP) to continue its Meals-to-You program and to permanently scale its impact outside of the states it serves, including Texas, New Mexico, Alaska and Utah.
