Waco police arrested local attorney Pablo Martinez, Jr., Thursday night after he was accused of trying to run a group of Baylor students over with his truck when they would not let him enter their home or join their gathering. No students were injured.

In response to social media claims regarding Baylor’s religious exemptions from Title IX, President Linda Livingstone released a statement Monday clarifying that such exemptions do not impact how Baylor handles sexual harassment cases.
The exercise included Baylor DPS and its branches as well as other local law enforcement, including fire safety and emergency medical services. Police chiefs, directors and emergency management from other universities within the Big 12 were invited to watch the events.
“City of Waco crews are on the Baylor campus to repair a city water main break on the east side of Pat Neff Hall (facing Waco Hall). To make repairs, the city crews have had to shut off a main water valve, which has resulted in no water service to Pat Neff Hall, Carroll Science, Draper Academic Building and Memorial/Alexander,” the email alert said.

Waco High School was put on lockdown and evacuated Tuesday afternoon to the BASE Extraco Events Center after an active shooter was falsely reported on campus. Waco Police tweeted at 2:21 p.m. that the department was aware of the situation and on the scene. Eighteen minutes later, Waco PD sent out another tweet saying there is no indication of an active shooter, but the department was still clearing the building to ensure the safety of students and staff.
