I have never met anyone who has seen and doesn’t love the “Rocky” movies, especially the third and fourth films. Both are great feel-good movies that help inspire viewers to keep on pushing no matter what.

As students, we often forget that we are in school for a multitude of reasons, and finding a partner to spend the rest of our lives with doesn’t have to be one of them.

In January 2021, my aunt died of a pulmonary embolism. I had no warning, just a 10 a.m. phone call that changed my life the day before spring semester classes started. My aunt, who was only 52, had been the most pure source of joy, beauty and sunshine I have ever had the privilege of knowing. It is in her memory that I urge everyone to educate themselves on the risk factors and symptoms of blood clots.

Branching out takes patience and consistency. Making friends in college is a process of trial and error. You are going to meet people who are vastly different from you, but despite those differences, you are going to find friends you connect with.

At some point, we’ve all probably kept some sort of diary or journal — it’s OK, you can admit it. It’s not a bad thing. Whether it’s been kept up with consistently is another discussion, but overall, keeping a journal gives you a safe place where you have the luxury of being truly honest without the worry of a reaction.
