Zeta Tau Alpha will host its annual Pie-A-Prez event at 6 p.m. on Thursday, inviting presidents from organizations across Baylor’s campus to participate by getting pied in the face on Fountain Mall. This year, the event aims to raise funds for breast cancer awareness and education, specifically early detection of breast cancer using AI technological advances.

Creativity, passion and talent remain at the heart of Sing. For this year’s showcase, Seattle senior Reagan Christensen and Houston junior Camille Burton, of Zeta Tau Alpha Sing chairs, have taken the lead — working and collaborating to choreograph what they believe is a standout performance.
Throughout the month of October, Zeta Tau Alpha has prepared for their male pageant, Big Man on Campus. This event showcases performances of talent and humor, while raising funds and awareness for breast cancer.
It’s a privilege to be in Greek Life, and I know not everyone has the luxury of spending thousands of dollars on top of their tuition. By the grace of God (and my mother), I’ve had the opportunity to join a sorority with the most amazing group of women.
In the last few years, there have only been a select few performances that have featured sports or fitness as the main theme. However, they have all been rather unique and interesting performances, each with their own style.
According to Baylor Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment, just because a woman registers and participates in rush week does not guarantee that she will receive a bid and be able to join a sorority.
When looking back on the Sing of the ‘80s and ‘90s, Taylor said she has seen tremendous changes since her days in the spotlight, which have left her overwhelmingly impressed.
“Greek life is so different at Baylor compared to other schools — we have spring recruitment, no houses, heavy influence of religion and specifically, Baylor vernacular and fashion trends,” Olson said.
For the fourth year in a row, the women of Zeta Tau Alpha can claim victory at StompFest. Zeta Tau Alpha beat six other teams for the StompFest title with its Hollywood-inspired step routine.

Finding a Greek council to sponsor their organization was an obstacle for the five original women of the Nu Iota chapter of Zeta Phi Beta.
I looked for things like choreography, song choice, vocal talent, overall execution and story development. I gave extra considerations to acts that were particularly entertaining, or creative, and how well each act developed the story within their performance. Please keep in mind that this is all just one man’s opinion.
Greek life is a large part of the Baylor student’s experience. According to the department of student activities, 25 percent of Baylor students participate in Greek life. With more than 40 different sororities and fraternities to choose from, students are free to find a group that they relate to best. The rest of the student body interacts regularly with this community through the countless activities the different groups put on, whether the events are for service or entertainment.
Last year, there were more than 2.6 million breast cancer survivors in America. One out of eight women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime, according to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
The Baylor’s 11th annual StompFest is starting at 7 p.m. today in Waco Hall, with another performance at the same time Saturday.
Sing 2011 was filled with awesome sets, great themes and much improvement. We’ve made some observations on each of the acts. They aren’t meant to be rude — they’re meant to highlight the good and point out the areas that need improvement. Thanks to all the performers for their hard work. Zeta Tau Alpha and Baylor Athletics are partnering to sponsor the women’s basketball annual Pink Zone game. The Lady Bears will face Texas A&M at 8 p.m. Monday at the Ferrell Center.
