The night before the Homecoming parade, Baylor prefaced their event with a post on X revealing the winning floats. While there is an element of competition to the floats, these float chairs agree that for them, the homecoming parade which is the longest-standing in the nation’s history goes beyond obtaining a ranking.

After weeks and even months of choreographing, practicing and dancing ‘til they drop, the performers of Pigskin had their moment of glory tonight. After the homecoming court was announced and the curtain was dropped, it was showtime.
Today is the day when some of the best acts from February’s All-University Sing will return to Waco Hall for the annual Pigskin Revue. Tonight at 7 p.m. — opening night — Kappa Omega Tau, Chi Omega, Phi Kappa Chi, Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Tau Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Kappa Alpha Theta, Tau Kappa Epsilon and Sing Alliance will take to the stage.
With all eyes on them after their first place win this past Sing season, Kappa Omega Tau prepares not only to defend their title, but to have fun while doing it.

All-University Sing has been a staple tradition of Baylor since the 1950s and has influenced many other colleges to follow in its footsteps by creating musical competitions of their own. So, as a recap, let’s take a look back at the Sing winners of the last few years.

According to Baylor Panhellenic Sorority Recruitment, just because a woman registers and participates in rush week does not guarantee that she will receive a bid and be able to join a sorority.
Chi Omega and Alpha Tau Omega are set to host their annual philanthropy event Friday: the Chili Cook-Off and Bed Races. For those who have never been to the event before, Tomball senior and Chi Omega president Campbell Fox described it with the highest excitement.
“It’s been such an awesome process and a blessing to work with them,” Christensen said. “Chi Omega is passionate about Sing, and it has been so fun to come together with a fraternity that loves it just as much as we do.”
“Greek life is so different at Baylor compared to other schools — we have spring recruitment, no houses, heavy influence of religion and specifically, Baylor vernacular and fashion trends,” Olson said.
The 62-year-long tradition of All-University Sing came to a close Saturday night, and the winners were announced following the nearly four hour show. First place was awarded to Phi Kappa Chi, second place went to Kappa Omega Tau and third place was given to Pi Beta Phi.
When 12-year-old Jason Andrews walked into the Chi Omega room in the Stacey Riddle Forum at 2 p.m. last Sunday side by side with LaPlace, La., sophomore Rico Gathers, forward for the Baylor men’s basketball team, he did so to the cheers of over 100 members of the sorority.
At Baylor, it’s not uncommon to see students careening down a street on top of a hospital bed while dressed in bizarre costumes.
The annual Chili Cook-Off and Bed Races is coming to campus for the 18th year at 5 p.m. Friday on Fountain Mall and Fifth Street.
Chi Omega and Alpha Tau Omega, have partnered together for the past nine years to make the event a tradition. ATO puts on the Bed Races, while Chi-O is heading up the Chili Cook-Off.
The fraternity Phi Gamma Delta, also known as “Fiji,” has been banned from taking part in any university activities this year.
“Phi Gamma Delta is not participating in all university events this semester due to a violation of university policy,” said Lori Fogleman, assistant vice president of media communications.
Fogleman added that Phi Gamma Delta will not be a part of Interfraternity Council recruitment, also known as Rush, this year.

I looked for things like choreography, song choice, vocal talent, overall execution and story development. I gave extra considerations to acts that were particularly entertaining, or creative, and how well each act developed the story within their performance. Please keep in mind that this is all just one man’s opinion.
Brittney Griner and Odyssey Sims will coach Chi-Omega’s “A” basketball team in its game Tuesday at the Student Life Center, after the sorority won their help in a competition. Chi-Omega will play Pi Beta Phi’s “B” team at 5 p.m.

The opening act of Pigskin is always one way for crowds to generate excitement for the homecoming festivities ahead, and this year has participants and viewers alike looking forward to a weekend of talented musicians, colorful costumes and sleek choreography.
Members of the Baylor community have been bursting the “Baylor Bubble” for the past 25 years during Steppin’ Out, a day of service in the Waco community that occurs once a semester.
Sing 2011 was filled with awesome sets, great themes and much improvement. We’ve made some observations on each of the acts. They aren’t meant to be rude — they’re meant to highlight the good and point out the areas that need improvement. Thanks to all the performers for their hard work.
