As we begin a new academic year, it’s an honor to step into the role of student body president. My top priority will be to represent my peers as the chief advocate for the student voice. Baylor is a special place that we are blessed to call home, and having been a Baylor fan for most of my life, I could not ask for a better way to spend my final year in Waco.

The student government shuttle service, which launched last fall to provide safe and cost-efficient airport transportation, will continue to run through the 2023-2024 academic year. Trips are planned for major breaks, including Thanksgiving, Christmas and spring break.

Baylor Student Government announced the winners of the 2023-2024 student election Friday night. The results included The Woodlands junior Nick Madincea as Student Body President, Aurora, Colo., junior Lily Davis as External Vice President and Trophy Club junior McKenzie Arata as the new Internal Vice President.

At the foundation of the United States’ government is the system of checks and balances. It is laid out in the U.S. Constitution, a document in which the Baylor Student Body Constitution declares itself to be under. Under such a system, there is a separation of powers.
