Some of these legislative changes could impact Baylor students, specifically those who utilize Medicaid, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and federal financial aid. This legislation impacts students and the social welfare programs American citizens utilize.
“We want to create opportunities, experiences and [an] atmosphere where you can ask where you are in your faith journey,” Ramsey said. “We want you to ask the big questions and to explore faith [and] move at your own pace, but you can’t do it alone. You’re going to [need] community; It’s vital for your journey.”
Described as “nostalgic” at best and “elderly” at worst, residents of Dawson and Allen often felt their residence hall was more like Grandma’s house than a college dorm. But after 60 years of housing Baylor students, Grandma’s place just got a $44 million facelift, and probably even a handful of organ transplants.
“We started to look around and the faculty came up with the idea” Carter said. Baylor will expand its graduate offerings with two new master’s degrees.
“It’s definitely an ‘it-takes-a-village’ mentality in pulling off these scholarships,” Beaudry said. “We really couldn’t do what we do without our many campus partners, individuals and organizations who support our work and make sure the right students find the right door to our office.”

Four NASA astronauts have set out on a trip around the moon and back. The Artemis II mission occurs just over 50 years after the last moon expedition with the goal of creating a space station where astronauts could stay for an extended period of time.
Oftentimes, required classes may seem unnecessary and unhelpful in our everyday lives. However, each one has been chosen to further our education and our perspectives at Baylor. Classes that should be added to this list are those emphasizing cultural conversations. This could include English classes that focus on multicultural literature, history classes that examine a certain ethnic group, medical humanities classes that discuss race in medicine and so many more.
Of course, this isn’t a Baylor problem or a Waco problem or a Texas problem or a U.S. problem. This is a cultural problem. And the way to solve a cultural problem is through education.
In comparison to a school like the University of Texas at Austin, which regularly holds events to support the homeless community and has a social work program that collaborates with the city, it appears that Baylor is missing out on many opportunities.
Street Dog Cafe’s distinct offerings are that it’s both a coffee shop and a full bakery. It’s also pet-friendly, with an outdoor area for dogs to run around. Lastly, it’s at a notable location on Elm Avenue, close to the Brazos River.
In a society that encourages and praises strength, resilience and that “boss babe” mentality, vulnerability is often overlooked or viewed as a sign of weakness. However, beneath the surface, there is a profound power in being vulnerable.
