For generations, Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” has been a staple of holiday traditions. From classic films to stage productions, Ebenezer Scrooge’s journey from miser to redeemed man returns each December, boasting familiar lessons and a sense of warmth. This year, Baylor University added its own twist, bringing the tale to life inside the Carroll Science Hall during Christmas on Fifth with an immersive, walk-through performance that invited visitors to step directly into the story.
The cold front came just in time for Christmas on Fifth. Despite rain concerns, Christmas on Fifth continued in full swing, drawing students out of their dorm and families from staying at home. Students said the Christmas spirit was infectious, helping ease stress around finals.
The Bears found second-half dominance to put together their first 20-plus point win of the season Tuesday night. Freshman guard Tounde Yessoufou led the way for the Bears with 27 points and four steals.

There is little denying that Generation Y is one of constant communication. You want to reach someone from Gen Y? Pick your poison: Will you call them? Maybe shoot a text message off? You could reach them by email, possibly to two or more e-mail addresses. Perhaps you will use Facebook chat or send a message? Maybe both? If you wanted to get really creative, you could even tag them in a tweet.
I find it ironic that our nation, which calls itself tolerant and promotes freedom of expression, seems to be slowly evolving into stricter censorship of speech and literature in an effort to create and maintain a more complacent society.

A new spring semester brings a new round of elections for current members and hopeful candidates of Baylor’s student government. Each election process seems to be the same: Candidates submit their applications and are reminded to comply with the electoral code, which sets general rules about campaigning policies.
“I want to be famous.” My grandson told me that when he was 6. I repeat: “6.”
