Some students had trouble logging on to the new site to register for permits while others were ahead of the game and purchased a permit the night before their assigned date, according to Prosper junior Brooke Black.
The event is a place for students to meet others and connect with cultural organizations on campus — with the added plus of free food, music and a cultural showcase. Throughout Mosaic Week, each ethnic group represented will have a night to put on a welcome fair and show off their campus coalition.
Baylor will host the annual Late Night event with hundreds of campus clubs and organizations from 9 to 11:30 p.m. Friday.
Student government, despite its name, is not best defined as a governing body. According to primary staff advisor Tanner Vickers, it’s really an “advocacy group that acts on behalf of the undergraduate student body.”
While the beginning of the fall semester normally brings cases of strep, flu, stomach viruses and colds, there are precautions students can take to stay healthy as school starts again, according to Dr. Sharon Stern, Baylor University Health Services medical director.

All Are Neighbors, held in the Cashion Academic Center, drew 270 ticketed attendees, totaling 352 people, including VIP guests and speakers, nearly filling all available seats. As Baylor’s first concert of the fall approaches, seats are slowly but surely snatched up from the Foster Pavilion ticket map. But for some students, the price can be a deterrent.
Your final grade is a 92.9%. Good job! You aced the class, right? Wrong.
Being a student-athlete is difficult. We have to worry about academics, performance, health and the list goes on. But think about adding this pandemic to these stresses and how much they can affect a student-athlete mentally and physically.
Taking classes outside of my major to fulfill degree requirements lead to some of my favorite Baylor memories. I believe these requirements ultimately made me savvy in several areas, and I am so grateful for that.
While course evaluations happen every semester and hold nothing new for students, Covid-19 has played a significant role in how classes were taught this semester. Keep in mind that professors have no more control over a global pandemic or how the university reacts than you do.
On Tuesday, please vote with a mindset beyond the immediate. Join me in electing Zach Tufenkjian as our student body’s next External Vice President in Tuesday’s runoff.
