The weight of the world is once again on Superman’s shoulders. With superhero fatigue and declining box office numbers, James Gunn’s “Superman” film has the chance to revive the superhero genre or sink it further into mediocrity.

Women are the common denominators in sexual misconduct cases like these. From Hollywood to government and even to Baylor, women become more than victims of a grotesque crime — they become symbols of strength. Their names matter infinitely more than their perpetrators’ do.

Around 25 million Americans are those you might notice gripping their armrests a little tighter than others when taking off or breaking a visible sweat when turbulence takes over. For years, this fear has been laughed off because as everyone knows, flying is the safest way to get from one place to another. Unfortunately, this fear of flying has become heightened and more validated than ever within a mere matter of months.

Next time you order a Roundup yearbook or pick up The Lariat to read about the Sing reviews, remember the students behind the work deserve just as much respect as you.

Over the last decade, more and more sports leagues have been programmed to try to drain every last dollar they can from their fans through multiple subscription services for games, high stadium prices or overpriced gear — or in this case, renaming every sports award, game or halftime show after companies and brands.

Unlike other historic, yet revolutionary discoveries and inventions – like fertilizer, air conditioning, or aviation – oil and gas has not been able to quietly age into an unsung hero of modern life. Instead, the industry and its nearly 11 million American workers have been villainized and rejected by the very people who reap the benefits of oil and gas.

As college students, we study for our exams and prepare for presentations. Next time you get lunch with a longtime friend, recall the previous conversation you shared. Is there anything you can draw from to strengthen this meeting? Just like an exam, you’ll see how much better things turn out if you prepare.

Many of us struggle with anxiety because we do not give ourselves time to breathe. When was the last time you took a day to yourself? When was the last time you spent your morning solely on journaling or working through a devotional? When was the last time you intentionally reflected on what areas of life you need growth in or what you’re most thankful for?

When describing overthinkers, their thought process can be compared to a scribble on a piece of paper, whereas lateral thinking follows a more direct path from A to B. The benefit of overthinking is how many observations and conclusions one can make when they aren’t thinking laterally. It’s truly a gift when overthinkers can pick up small details that others wouldn’t have thought of.

While tabling still needs attention-grabbing methods to attract new people, there is no need to yell, scream or rope people into conversation to do so. No one should leave Fountain Mall feeling as if they were ambushed, bamboozled or forced to have a conversation. Instead, recruiting efforts should be focused on attracting students through quality conversation, eye-catching graphics and students genuinely wanting to join.

We all know gossip isn’t going away anytime soon. And that’s okay. When we wield the power of our words wisely, we can significantly help build our relationships and communities. Being intentional with what we say can help us protect and connect with our peers.

Baylor University, as a private institution, has a unique and important role in the conversation of diversity, equity and inclusion in educational settings. We have the opportunity to be a leader and a trailblazer for DEI research and academia since our main source of funding doesn’t come from the government.

With the integration of AI in job boards and a never-ending list of “preferred” and required experience, finding a job or internship has never been harder. But in the same vein, getting the experience required to check all the boxes is extremely accessible, cheap and not time-consuming.

Animation is an art that needs to be protected and embraced. Some stories simply can only be told through animation. It requires a perfect blend of art and sound, and anything less would be an insult to its art and story. Sometimes you have to respect an original creation for how it was made and leave it at that.

Would a person walk into a job interview and say “Sup”? Most people would answer no. Why? Because it is not an appropriate interaction to have with a potential employer and breaks traditional etiquette. If a person were to do this, that would be embarrassing on their part because it shows they lack basic communication skills.

Despite technological developments, car culture remains significant. It is a link to the past, a tribute to man’s creativity and an avenue for self-expression. As a once capstone of American culture, car culture is more than just the machines. The passion this community shares collectively is fundamental to preserving its history and rich influence.

These decisive actions are exactly what the American people voted for in 2024. It is great to see a president prioritizing national security and law enforcement instead of other less critical initiatives. While the implementation of these orders has and will face undue opposition from the left, everyone in the Trump administration seems to understand how bad the situation at the border is.

The two-block stretch, beginning at the intersection of Bagby and Fifth Street followed by the Bagby and Fourth Street intersection, is something I dread. It’s the ultimate patience tester.

With All-University Sing on the horizon, and the level of competition increasing each year, it is natural to feel some sense of comparison versus other competitors and chapters. But, as a Panhellenic community, we should be uplifting and cheering on our fellow chapters.

Far too many people don’t look further than the text of these articles. Some — as many as 75% of people, based on a study conducted from 2017-2020 — don’t even read past the headline. Upon a few extra minutes of examining sources and digging deeper into certain statistics, one may find that many of these articles exaggerate, mislead and even outright lie about the information within.

This album did exactly what she set out to do — challenge what a genre is and what it should be. It shows that Beyoncé is more than just a pop star — she is a true visionary. She did not say that country should start over or be something completely new, but rather that its depth and history should not be forgotten during an era of change.

Even working-class Palisades residents — ranging from housekeepers to engineers — have been virtually ignored in favor of a slew of content regarding celebrities. Unlike the celebrities, these people were already being priced out of their homes, and will not likely will be able to return, especially as landlords use this opportunity to raise rents for the desperate, newly displaced.

Soccer isn’t just a sport — it’s a passion, a tradition and a connection that goes through generations. If you’ve never given it a real chance, maybe it’s time you did. You might just discover a new love for the beautiful sport.

Stop forcing yourself to be a leader if that’s not the path you see yourself in. If you are a leader, don’t diminish the excellence of your supporters. And if you are a college admissions officer, don’t reject someone just because they weren’t class president or football captain.

Black History Month means something different for every American. For some, it means remembering ancestors who suffered on our soil. For others, it could mean uplifting friends who may not share the same generational history, but share a similar commitment to equal opportunities for all people.

The Daily Beast and The Daily Wire are slowly taking the place of The Daily Planet. Our generation is responsible for this. We are watching and overseeing the end of an era as mainstream media sources are being edged out because of our embrace of social media.
