In high school, seniors get the first row of the bleachers in games; in professional spaces the senior level employees typically have more influence and power; even senior citizens get discounts at places like the zoo or movie theaters. When it comes to milestone Baylor traditions like Sing, seniors should also be treated special.
But alas, tickets sell out in minutes. I’m happy they do, but I truly have to contemplate if I’m able to “splurge” on the price of them. This year, they were upwards of $30 for students and the general public.
With the success of head coach Art Briles and No. 10 Baylor over the past few years, ticket sales have increased dramatically, because of both fans and students. Over 8,500 students claimed their tickets to Aug. 31’s football game against SMU in less than one hour last Sunday. Many students experienced server issues, and in turn, were unable to reserve seats for the first game in McLane Stadium.
Amid mass confusion about student football tickets, Student Activities said they plan on standing by the new online distribution process.

Since the school year began, there have been a few changes in parking. The addition of 100 faculty parking spaces, the loss of 200 student parking spaces and tickets being handed out for keeping last year’s parking permit on your windshield in addition to this year’s permit.
You read that right. Students are being ticketed for having the current and past year’s stickers on their windshield. The first offense is just a warning, but the next offense costs $10 and every ticket after that comes with a $25 fine.
If you have received a warning for having last year’s parking permit on your windshield in addition to the current sticker, and have yet to take it off, there is a good chance you’ll soon receive a more substantial reprimand.
At the start of the school year, students began receiving parking notices for expired stickers still affixed to the front of their windshield.
The fine amount listed on first offense notices is $0. However, second offenses will cost the car owner $10 and offenses after that will be $25 each.
