While student teachers are not able to administer the STAAR, they can help the students prepare by helping them with subjects that they know will most likely be on the STAAR. Another way the student teachers can help during test week is to encourage the students, as some students really struggle with test anxiety or academic pressure.

“We exist with one foot in the Baylor world and one foot in the larger world of academic publishing,” Jarrell said. “It is our hope to serve both spheres, bridging excellence in our industry and prestigious service to our leadership while playing a role in furthering Baylor’s missional life as an R1 institution.”

“Reiki is constant. It’s never not there,” Moles said. “We have chakra systems in our body, and ultimately, we want those up and running. We want them to be in a balanced position, and that creates a cohesive subconscious and conscious connection because you’re at a higher vibrational frequency.”

The Beall Poetry Festival will take place from Wednesday to Friday on Baylor’s campus, celebrating its 30th anniversary. This year, the special guest will be Tracy K. Smith, author of “Wade in the Water” and “Life on Mars” and 2022 Poet Laureate of the United States.

As college students, finding time to volunteer or pinpointing meaningful ways to give back to the community can sometimes be a challenge. However, if your heart feels called to serve, there are plenty of great organizations across Waco where you can be a positive influence. One such organization is STARS Book Clubs, where you can make an impact for many years to come.
