The Mind-Body Medicine Research Lab researches the connection between the human mind and physical health through various methods like hypnosis and mindfulness. The lab is led by Dr. Gary Elkins, a professor of psychology and neuroscience and the leading researcher and expert on the use of hypnotherapy for multiple medical problems.

While seasonal depression has many effects, there are just as many ways to combat seasonal depression. The more common treatments include vitamin D supplements, light therapy, psychotherapy and prescribed medications. With the days ending much earlier in the winter than the summer, people suffering from SAD may plan to watch the sunset most evenings for vitamin D exposure and to help adjust internal clocks.

Living in gratitude and out of complaint is worth the effort. In this life, we will experience great joys, milestones, trials and hardships. Beginning to practice and implement a posture of gratitude will change our hearts and our lives.

When students think about taking a psychology class, they might think of studying different psychological disorders or looking at what factors make a person violent or aggressive. This semester, however, two Baylor professors are exploring the positive side of psychology.
