Men's Basketball
Two former Southwest Conference powers will face off in Dallas at 6:30 p.m on Saturday, with No. 8 Baylor (0-1) and No. 16 Arkansas (1-0) set to square off at American Airlines Center.

Women's Basketball
No. 19 Baylor women’s basketball left Hardin-Simmons University in shambles after a 120-41 victory in an exhibition matchup on Friday night in the Ferrell Center. The Bears shot 65% from the floor, and all 13 women who saw the floor were able to find a bucket, with five scoring double figures. On defense, the green and gold forced 26 turnovers and allowed a measly 19% field goal percentage from the visiting team.
The Bears are adding several new pieces into the mix ahead of Friday’s scrimmage against Hardin-Simmons.
The Big 12 is continuing to change and evolve through expansion, and both Baylor men’s and women’s basketball have the chance to benefit from it.
Equestrian
LaPrise Harris-Williams is in her third season as head coach of Baylor’s newest intercollegiate athletics program, acrobatics and tumbling. Prior to her arrival at Baylor, Harris-Williams spent the last 18 years in San Antonio, Texas, as a tumbling clinician and choreographer. Harris-Williams has experience coaching all aspects of gymnastics, including acrobatics and tumbling and cheer. Harris-Williams was known as co-owner of Harris Gymnastics from 1995-2008, where she helped place two athletes on the 2001 World Team for USA Gymnastics.
The Baylor equestrian team finished as runner-up in the Big 12, with a 10-9 loss to Oklahoma State on Saturday at the Willis Family Equestrian Center in Waco.
Baylor acrobatics and tumbling (2-3) fell to undefeated Oregon Saturday evening at the Ferrell Center.
Tennis
Baylor men’s tennis took a 4-2 victory over the University of Texas in Fort Worth. The team now looks to play Texas Christian University in the final on Sunday.
Winning the first two matchups didn’t stay true to form for No. 21 Baylor women’s tennis, as they fell 4-1 to No. 27 University of Kansas.
Baylor men’s tennis heads to the Big 12 tournament to play either the University of Texas or Oklahoma State University on Saturday.
Golf
The Baylor women’s golf team finished in seventh place at the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif. As a team, they shot a 32-over-par 884, including 15-over-par 299 performance in the final round.
The Lady Bears finished the first round of the tournament in the lead with a score of 286. Baylor head coach Jay Goble said what started as a good week quickly turned upside down.
The Baylor men’s golf team participated in the Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship in Hutchinson, Kan., at the Prairie Dunes Country Club this week.
The Bears finished sixth overall, shooting 55-over-par with a total score of 895.
The Bears joined a field of eight other Big 12 schools that included every school in the conference except West Virginia.
The Baylor men’s golf team will compete in its fifth tournament of the season at the Insperity Augusta State Invitational in Augusta, Ga., at the Forest Hills Golf Club. The tournament will be hosted by Augusta State University and will be played all day on Saturday and Sunday.
