Baylor Athletic Director Mack Rhoades is taking a leave of absence for “personal reasons” from the University and stepping down from his post as chair of the College Football Playoff Committee, The Baylor Lariat confirmed Thursday. The Lariat has confirmed the university received allegations not connected to football, any Title IX matters, NCAA rules issues or student welfare earlier in the week. The university is investigating the allegations.

With the Christmas season in full swing and Big 12 competition less than three weeks away, Baylor head coach Scott Drew has one thing on his wish list: a healthy basketball team.

Women's Basketball
Brittney Griner, who’s in her 10th season with the Phoenix Mercury, will make her first return to Baylor’s campus on Feb. 18.
The Wildcats switched to a 1-2-2 zone and held the Bears to just 16 second-half points, lifting them to a 58-55 victory on Monday night in the Foster Pavilion.
“It’s always good to get in the win column,” Baylor head coach Nicki Collen said. “I think sometimes you just need the mojo back.”
Equestrian
Baylor Equestrian continued its impressive season with an 11-8 win over former-Big 12 Conference rival No. 6 Texas A&M at Willis Family Equestrian Center on Saturday. The Bears remain undefeated (10-0) and have maintained the No. 1 ranking in the country since late October.

“Ultimately, I don’t know what the identity of the team is right now,” Scrivano said. “We’re going to find out. You don’t know until you get in the heat of the battle and you go through some adversity. I am confident that these kids will respond really well this year.”
“We’re really going to build on the great success and tradition that we’ve had here over the last 20 years-plus, and especially over the last couple years with this group and the culture that we’ve established,” Woodson said.
Baylor women’s tennis will host the Baylor Invite from Friday to Sunday and welcomes the University of Houston, Texas Christian University and Washington State.
